ABSTRACT

Introduction: The Preservation of health and mental health, especially among students is important, because they are the future of the country. In the event of damage to the mental health of students and their academic performance is reduced. This study aimed to determine the effect of psychological interventions on mental status of female students with behavioral disorders

Methods: This research was a clinical trial study in 80 female students [40 intervention and 40 control] were residing in the dormitory of Medical Sciences during 2010-11 which had the required conditions to enter the study program based on inclusion and exclusion criteria. The data gathering tools was MMPI [Minnesota Multiphase Personality Inventory]questionnaire had 71 questions that researchers using these tools for mental status in both the intervention and control groups before and after psychological interventions [in Group therapy 8 sessions of 45 min] data analysis with SPSS software using descriptive and inferential statistics was performed

Results: Finding showed some mental status criterion had an Statistically significant average difference: the measure of paranoia, aspects of defense and lie detector test criterionin the two intervention and control groups. [p<0/005] However, some measures of mental status showed no statistically significant difference

Conclusion: Researchers have suggested to do researches however as with a more widely and using a variety of other assessment tools

ABSTRACT

Chondrosarcomas are slow-growing, malignant mesenchymal neoplasms characterized by formation of cartilage by the tumoral cells. They display a wide range of morphological features from a well-differentiated growing mass resembling a benign cartilage tumour to a high-grade malignancy with aggressive local invasion. Only 5% to 10% of this neoplasm is confined to the head and neck region. Chondrosarcomas of the mandibular condyle may manifest the typical symptoms of the temporomandibular joint dysfunction syndrome. Tumours of the condyle can reach a large size without producing clinically obvious swellings. A rare case of chondrosarcoma of the mandibular condyle in a 34-years old woman is presented in this report. Patient's chief complaint was pain in the right temporomandibular joint when her mouth was in a maximum opening position. Mild malocclusion, figured as an occlusal discrepancy, was also detected. Radiographs illustrated erosion in the head of condyle. After condylectomy, the excised mass was histologically diagnosed as a grade II chondrosarcoma

ABSTRACT

Tooth sensitivity is common after vital tooth bleaching. Desensitizers are available as a component of bleaching agents or separated materials. The aim of this invitro study was to evaluate the effect of [GC tooth Mousse [GCTM]] on bond strength of composite resin to bleached enamel. This experimental study was conducted on 48 freshly extracted sound molars. Samples were divided in 4 groups [n=12]. In group 1 [negative control] composite resin was bonded on the buccal enamel surfaces. Specimens in groups 2 and 3 were bleached for 6 hrs/d for 5 consecutive days [Daywhite ACP]. Group 2 specimens were immediately bonded with composite resin. In group 3, GCTM was used for 30 min in 5 consecutive days and then rinsed after each procedure. On the 5[th] day the specimens were bonded using composite resin. In group 4, the specimens only received GCTM and then composite resin cylinders were bonded. After 500 rounds of thermocycling, shear bond strength of the samples were measured and the findings were analyzed by Two-way ANOVA and Tukey-Keramer tests, [a = 0.05] Variance analysis showed significant differences between groups [P = 0.0]. The highest and the lowest bond strengths were found in groups 1 and 2 respectively. The Tukey-Keramer analysis showed that using GCTM after bleaching had significant effect on composite shear bonding strength. [P < 0.05]. Within limitations of this invitro study, using the GCTM as a desensitizer agent either alone or during bleaching affected the composite resin bond strength to enamel. More investigation is recommended
