ABSTRACT

4953 persons working in one of the General Establishments for Technical Industries were studied their behaviour in having sickness absence. 65.8% of the people studied had no sick leave in the year studied [1986]. The average days lost per person because of sickness absence was 3.9 days while the percentage of days lost from the total working days was 1.3 days per person. The average days lost per person and the percentage of days lost from the total working days were higher among females older age groups, administrative people. those of low education, married people without children and those with mid-class wages
