ABSTRACT

Congenital dislocation of the hip is an important condition that has attracted a large share of attention of the orthopaedic surgeons. The results of treatment of 73 hips in 62 patients are analysed. The pre-operative the operative and post-operative scheme of treatment is discussed. Good results were obtained in 56 hips [76.7%] and bad results in 17 hips [23.3%]. The most important causes of the poor results were avascular necrosis of the femoral capital epiphysis, degenerative arthritis and recurrence of the subluxation. The treatment of congenital dislocation of the joint includes:Relaxation of the tight soft tissues around the hip, reduction of the hip and stabilizing operations to maintain the reduce position
