ABSTRACT

Maintaining a harmonious doctor-patient relationship is an important foundation for the development of health care, and building a doctor-patient community is a key measure to maintain the harmonious doctor-patient relationship. To accelerate the construction of a doctor-patient community, it is necessary to establish a sense of struggle, grasp the connotation of a doctor-patient community, and understand its predicament, so as to propose targeted strategies for constructing a doctor-patient community. A doctor-patient community is a cooperative community, not a compromise community. The purpose of struggle is to better unite and cooperate. A doctor-patient community established under the guidance of struggle spirit is more united, more cohesive, and more effective. In the context of the new era, building a doctor-patient community faces the challenges of doctors being busy with "treatment" and neglecting emotional communication between doctors and patients, patients looking for "curing" and generating the illusion of omnipotence in medical skills, schools focusing on "medical skill" and weakening the cultivation of students’ humanities, the society lacking "integration" and disrupting the harmonious doctor-patient environment, etc. Building a doctor-patient community should strengthen emotional communication between doctors and patients, correct patients’ cognitive biases, enhance humanistic education, and create a good medical environment, with a view to promoting the healthy development of a doctor-patient community and facilitating the construction of the healthy China strategy.

ABSTRACT

The aim of this study was to investigate the expression of circulating microRNAs (miRNAs) in apolipoprotein E (apoE) knockout mice (apoE-/-) and to validate the role of these miRNAs in human coronary artery disease (CAD). Pooled plasma from 10 apoE-/- mice and 10 healthy C57BL/6 (B6) mice was used to perform the microarray analysis. The results showed that miR-34a, miR-21, miR-23a, miR-30a and miR-106b were differentially expressed in apoE-/- mice, and these expression changes were confirmed by real-time quantitative reverse-transcription PCR. Then, miR-34a, miR-21, miR-23a, miR-30a and miR-106b were detected in the plasma of 32 patients with CAD and of 20 healthy controls. Only miR-34a, miR-21 and miR-23a were significantly differentially expressed in the plasma of CAD patients (all P<0.01). In conclusion, miR-34a, miR-21 and miR-23a were elevated in CAD patients, which means that these miRNAs might serve as biomarkers of CAD development and progression.

ABSTRACT

Objective To study the curative effect of transurethral incision for male urethral stricture or atresia. Methods A retrospective) review was made on 55 male patients with urethral stricture or atresia treated by transurethral incision. Results The success rate of the operation on one session was 90.9% (50/55), while the remaining 5 patients were cured by two times of operations.Forty-seven patients were followed for 6~12 months (mean,10 months).Urethral dilatation was performed for once within 1 week after the remorval of catheter in 10 patients, for 3~5 times within 3 months after operation in 21 patients, and after the third postoperative month in 16 patients. Conclusions Transurethral incision for male urethral stricture or atresia is effective.
