Sexualidad, creatividad y conflicto estético: análisis de dos casos / Sexuality, creativity and aesthetic conflict: analysis of two cases

A través de dos viñetas clínicas, el presente trabajo analiza la dificultad para integrar los aspectos inciertos y no controlables del desarrollo sexual. Esto se concretiza en una sexualidad que aparece como negada y/o reprimida, lo que se evidencia en una relación de ataque al cuerpo. Estas pacientes tienen la sensación de ser personas asexuadas que viven en la cómoda fantasía omnipotente de no necesidad. En la comodidad de la no sexualidad, del no deseo, hay cierta sensación de control que las mantiene aisladas en una suerte de refugio psíquico (Steiner, 2000). Su relación con la sexualidad es evitativa, muchas veces envidiosa, pero principalmente desesperanzada. Se postula que esta dificultad tiene relación, en parte, con la falla en el proceso de individuación y separación, así como con la identificación con aquello no vivo que es posible de controlar. De esta manera, la experiencia más vital es amenazante por la incertidumbre que la rodea. En este sentido, desde la posibilidad planteada por Winnicott del vivir creativamente, tomo el concepto de sentido estético de Meltzer (1990) puesto que creo que estas jóvenes se excluyen de la belleza del mundo, de la sexualidad y de las relaciones de intimidad y sinceridad, debido principalmente a la incapacidad para aceptar la incertidumbre que la experiencia conlleva. Este trabajo toca parte del proceso de ser y hacer en su vulnerabilidad consustancial.

Through two vignettes, the present work analyses the difficulties to integrate the uncertain and uncontrollable aspects of sexual development. This concretizes in a sexuality that appears as denied and/or repressed, which is evidenced in a relation of body harm.These patients have the sensation of being sexless and live in the comfortable omnipotent fantasy of no need. In the comfort of no-sexuality, no-desire, there is a certain. Feeling of control that keeps them isolated in a sort of psychic retreat (Steiner, 1997).Their relationship with sexuality is avoidant, many times envious, but mainly hopeless. The article states that this difficulty is related, partly, to a failure in the process of separation-individuation, as well as with the identification with the un- alive that can be controlled. In this way, the most vital experience becomes a threat due to the uncertainty that surrounds it. In this regard, from the possibility stated by Winnicott of living creatively (1994), I take Meltzer´s (1990) concept of aesthetic sense, since I believe these young women exclude themselves from the world´s beauty, from sexuality and from intimate and sincere relations, due mainly to the incapacity to accept the uncertainly that the experience entails. This article touches part of the being and doing process in the consubstantial vulnerability.

Sexualidad, intimidad y espacio potencial / Sexuality, intimacy and potential space

A través de viñetas clínicas se elabora la hipótesis que en ocasiones el sexo actúa como defensa contra la sexualidad. Es decir, el coito se manifiesta como expresión de no vínculo y no pensamiento, articulándose como defensa frente a aspectos libidinales. Aparece entonces lo sexual como algo gélido y desvitalizado, más movilizado por sentimientos de poder que por anhelos de vinculación. Tal como lo plantea Freud (1905), en la escena sexual queda plasmada y de alguna manera congelada la experiencia traumática. Utilizando conceptos Winnicottianos, se postula que en estos casos existiría una patología del espacio potencial, entendiendo que el encuentro sexual creativo implica la mediación del sujeto como creador de sus propios significados así como la superposición de símbolos que enriquecen el encuentro, los que representan la unión y la separación al mismo tiempo. Se hipotetiza que el trabajo psicoanalítico al ampliar la experiencia del self del paciente, permite nuevos grados de libertad en la experiencia pulsional. Esto posibilita la creación de un espacio potencial requisito necesario para la intimidad y la experiencia amorosa con otro

Through clinical vignettes, a hypothesis is elaborated that sometimes sex acts as a defense against sexuality. That is to say, sexual intercourse represents an expression of linking and not thinking and is articulated as a defense against aspects of libido. Thus, sexuality appears to be something icy and lifeless, mobilized more by feelings of power than by genuine longing for connectedness to another.Just as Freud (1905) suggests, in the sexual scene the traumatic experience is reflected and somehow frozen. Using Winnicottian concepts, it is argued that in these cases, a pathology of the potential space might exist, with the understanding that the creative sexual encounter implies the mediation of the subject as creator of his/her own meanings and of the overlapping of symbols which enrich the encounter, which represent both union and separation at the same time. This hypothesis includes the idea that through the broadening of the experience of the patient’s self, psychoanalytic work allows new levels of liberty in the instinctual experience. This makes the creation of a potential space possible, a necessary requirement for intimacy and a loving experience with another person
