ABSTRACT
Com a tendência mundial de valorização da estética, a odontologia desenvolveu materiais capazes de passarem desapercebidos até mesmo aos olhos mais atentos. Nesse contexto, a prótese parcial fixa adesiva recebe merecido destaque pelo alto caráter estético conseguido na atualidade, devido aos materiais utilizados, que reproduzem a anatomia e as cores dos dentes, além de possuírem propriedades semelhantes às próteses que utilizam estruturas metálicas. O desenvolvimento de materiais mais resistentes e estéticos veio a substituir a utilização do metal nessa modalidade de prótese. A presente revisão de literatura relata as diversas etapas evolutivas da prótese dentária, especificamente a prótese parcial fixa adesiva. Esta recebeu no século XX, contribuição do sistema adesivo, resinas compostas e fibras de reforço, melhorando a fixação e estética destas peças protéticas.
Due to the world-wide valuation aesthetics trend, deontology has developed materials that cannot be perceived even by the most attentive look. In this context, resin-bonded fixed partial prostheses receives deserved prominence by its high aesthetic character achieved in the present time due to the materils in use, which not only reproduce the anatomy and tooth color but also have the same properties of metalic structured prostheses. The development of more resistant and aesthetic materials came so as to substitute the use of metal in this prosthesis model. This literature review relates the several evolution leveis of dental prostheses, specially the resin-bonded fixed partial prostheses. This one received contribution in the 20 century from adhesive systems, composed resins and reinforced fibers, which improved the setting and aesthetic of prostheses pieces.
