ABSTRACT
No presente trabalho avaliou-se o valor da carga necessária para induzir uma determinada deformação elástica (deslocamento) de instrumentos de NiTi acionados a motor de mesma conicidade nominal e de diferentes números de três marcas comerciais. Nos ensaios mecânicos de flexão as amostras foram fixadas em uma das extremidades (cantilever) e a carga aplicada na extremidade oposta. Os resultados obtidos indicaram que os instrumentos da marca comercial ProFile estatisticamente são mais flexíveis(menor rigidez) do que os K3 eHero em todos os números (diâmetros) ensaiados
In this study the lood needed to provide certain elastic deformation (desplacement) in engine-driven NiTi instruments, with similar sizes (nominal diameter), from three commercial brands was evaluated. In the bending tests, the sampes were fixed at one end (cantilever) and then the lood was applied at other end. The results showed that the ProFile instruments were more flexible than K3 and Hero instruments in all tested sizes.
