ABSTRACT

Gingival recession is characterized by an apical positioning of the gingival margin in relation to the cement-enamel junction (American Academy of Periodontology – AAP, 2001). Among the techniques proposed for the treatment of this condition, there is the semilunar coronally positioned flap (SCPF) – Tarnow, 1986. Combination of techniques root coverage with the use of gel containing proteins derived from enamel matrix has recently been approached in order to improving clinical outcomes. Therefore, the aim will be to report the use of the SCPF for treatment of gingival recessions, in association with the enamel matrix derivative.
