Tratamento clínico multidisciplinar para o fechamento dos diastemas em dentes superiores / Multidisciplinary clinical treatment of diastema closure in anterior teeth

O objetivo deste trabalho é relatar um caso clínico em que se realizou o fechamento dos diastemas dos dentes 15 ao 25, apresentando uma abordagem clínica multidisciplinar, envolvendo a periodontia e a dentística restauradora. O tratamento consistiu no enceramento diagnóstico, seguido de aumento de coroa clínica e finalização restauradora com facetas de cerâmica. Após o tratamento, a paciente mostrou-se satisfeita com o resultado estético e o restabelecimento da harmonia no sorriso.

The aim this work was to report a clinical case of diastema closure from the tooth 15 to tooth 25 through a multidisciplinary approach, involving Periodontics and Restorative Dentistry. The treatment comprised the diagnostic wax-up followed by crown lengthening and final restorations with ceramic veneers. After treatment, the patient was satisfied with the cosmetic result and the restoration of the smile harmony.

Reabilitação funcional e estética com fragmentos cerâmicos em dentes fraturados / Functional and esthetic rehabilitation using ceramic fragments in fractured tooth

As fraturas dentais têm como consequências a perda de estrutura dentária, possíveis alterações oclusais, bem como comprometimento da função e da estética, podendo afetar a autoestima do paciente. Dessa forma, o objetivo deste trabalho é relatar três casos clínicos em que houve diferentes tipos de fraturas de cúspides em dentes posteriores. Nos três casos, o tratamento restaurador consistiu na colagem de fragmentos cerâmicos, o que possibilitou um procedimento reabilitador minimamente invasivo, que devolveu a função e a estética aos pacientes. Conclui que a opção clínica pelos fragmentos cerâmicos se apresenta como tratamento restaurador simples, eficiente e com grande preservação de estrutura dental remanescente.

Dental fractures have consequences like loss of tooth structure, occlusal changes and possible impairment of function and esthetics, which also can compromise patient’s self esteem. Thus, the aim of this study is to report three cases with different types of fractures of cuspids in posterior teeth. Treatment involved bonding of ceramic fragments allowing a minimally invasive rehabilitation, restoring function and esthetics. It was concluded that ceramic fragments appeared to be a simple, effective and highly conservative restorative approach for preservation of remaining tooth structure.
