ABSTRACT
A identificação dos significados de ser uma pessoa comtraumatismo raquimedular (TRM) com sequelas de paraplegia; ossignificados de enfrentamento e as ações de resiliência. Material emétodos: Qualitativa e exploratória, a amostra foi constituída por 20pessoas residentes em quatro municípios do sul de Minas Gerais.Para a coleta de dados, que foi por meio de entrevistas, utilizou-se oroteiro semiestruturado constituído por três perguntas. As entrevistasforam gravadas e transcritas literalmente. Para a análise dos dados,utilizaram-se as diretrizes metodológicas do Discurso do Sujeito Coletivo.Resultados: Das ideias centrais e as expressões-chave do tema1: Significado de ser uma pessoa com TRM emergiram as seguintesideias centrais: Difícil, Normal, Luta, Ruim, Limitação. O tema 2:Significados de enfrentamento foi evidenciado pelas seguintes expressões:Enfrento de forma positiva, com dificuldade social, com apoiofamiliar, com dificuldade profissional, com dificuldades; O tema 3,referente às Ações de resiliência permitiu as seguintes representações:Atividades religiosas e espirituais, Diversas atividades, Nenhuma,Saindo de casa, Fazendo o que os outros fazem. Conclusão: Os significadosde ser portador de TRM e de enfrentamento assumiramrepresentações, sobretudo, negativas. Identifying the meanings of being a person with spinalcord injury with sequel of paraplegia, the meanings of coping andthe actions of resilience. Methods: Qualitative and exploratory, thesample included 20 residents of four cities in the south of MinasGerais. Data was collected through interviews and used the semistructured guidelines consisting of three questions. The interviewswere taped and transcribed verbatim. The methodological guidelinesof the collective subject discourse were used to analyze data. Results:The main ideas and key expressions were extracted. From theme 1:the meaning of being a person with spinal cord injury, the followingideas emerged: difficult, normal, struggle, bad, limitation. Thetheme 2: Cope meanings evidenced by the following expressions: copewith a positive way, with social difficulties, with family support,with limited professional difficulties. The theme 3: concerning theactions of resilience allows the following representations: religiousand spiritual activities, several activities, none, going out, doingwhat other people do. Conclusion: The meanings of being a personwith spinal cord injury and coping with brought mainly negativerepresentations.
