ABSTRACT
Se hizo un estudio descriptivo, transversal y retrospectivo en el servicio de Neumología del Hospital Clinicoquirúrgico Docente Dr. "Ambrosio Grillo Portuondo" durante 1996, con el objetivo de determinar la calidad de la atención de enfermería y exponer los planes y perspectivas a desarrollar con los pacientes ingresados por asma bronquial como enfermedad crónica no transmisible. Se realizó una encuesta a través de la cual se obtuvieron los datos de interés para la investigación. Hubo predominio del sexo masculino y de los pacientes en edad laboral. Más de la mitad de la muestra no había recibido educación sanitaria sobre su afección y un elevado número no cumplía el tratamiento intercrisis. Por tanto, el personal de enfermería debe proyectar sus acciones fundamentalmente hacia este grupo y mantener un control del seguimiento por el área de salud(AU)
A descriptive, crosswise and retrospective study was undertaken in 1996 in the Pneumology Department of "Dr. Ambrosio Grillo Portuondo" Teaching Clinical and Surgical Hospital, with the purpose of determining the quality of nursing care and disclosing plans and prospects to be carried out with patients admitted to the hospital with bronchial asthma as a chronic non-communicable disease. A survey was made to collect data of interest for the research where male patients and patients at working age predomin ated. Over half of the sample had no sanitary education on the disease and a great number of surveyed people did not follow the appropriate treatment between asthma fits. Therefore, the nursi staff should mainly direct the actions toward this group and keep a controlled follow-up by health areas(AU)
