ABSTRACT

Esta pesquisa tem o objetivo de identificar as habilidades que, segundo os professores-médicos, devem ser desenvolvidas pelo aluno para que este obtenha as ferramentas necessárias ao trato das emoções decorrentes de sua prática profissional. As técnicas utilizadas foram entrevistas semi-estruturadas com professores-médicos e observações em disciplinas e setores do hospital-escola. A análise evidenciou que o controle das emoções é uma habilidade que o corpo docente espera que o futuro profissional adquira durante sua formação. Constatou-se que os professores-médicos consideram o costume, a repetição e o hábito meios que, ao favorecerem a aquisição de uma calosidade emocional pelo aluno, proporcionam-lhe proteção contra as situações angustiantes da profissão. Uma outra forma, ainda que incipiente, de lidar com essa problemática foi evidenciada nas aulas de Clínica Médica I, durante as quais, através de uma estrutura de seminários, procurou-se integrar os aspectos técnicos e os aspectos emocionais gerados pela prática médica (AU)


The objective of the present study is to identify the abilities that should be developed by students so that they could get the necessary tools to treat the emotions caused by their profession, according to the medical professors. The techniques used were semi-structured interviews with medical professors and peer-observations in classes and in different areas of the teaching hospital. This analysis has highlighted that the control of emotions is an ability the medical professors hope the future professional acquires during the academic education. There was an identification that the medical professors has regarded that the custom, the repetition and the habit, means that, when in favor an acquisition of an emotional callosity by the student, which provides protection against afflicting situations of the profession. Another way, even inceptive, of dealing with this problem was notices in Clinical Medicine I classes, during which, through seminars structures, it was sought to integrate the technical aspects with the emotional ones originated by its own medical practice (AU)
