ABSTRACT
Objetivo: Este estudo teve por objetivo investigar as temáticas representações sociais e envelhecimento, em publicações científicas no campo das Ciências da Saúde. Material e Métodos: Trata-se de uma pesquisa de revisão integrativa da literatura. A amostra foi constituída por 25 artigos de periódicos da área da Saúde, disponibilizados nas bases de dados Scientific Electronic Library Online (SciElo) e Biblioteca Virtual em Saúde (BVS), entre os anos de 2000 a 2010. Resultados: A análise dos resultados foi efetivada mediante a técnica de analise de conteúdo. Deste modo, emergiram três categorias temáticas: 1 - Qualidade de vida e processo saúde/doença; 2 - Representações sociais acerca do envelhecimento por idosos que participam de grupos de convivência; 3- O Cuidar de idosos: relação familiares/cuidadores e institucionalização. Conclusão: Como contribuição, os diversos estudos apontaram o desejo do ser idoso pela conquista da autonomia e melhoria da saúde e da qualidade de vida, os benefícios do vínculo e cuidados familiares e a sobrecarga à qual o cuidador está submetido.
Objective: To investigate themed social representations and aging in scientific publications in the health . Material and Methods: this is an integrative review of the literature performed in the database Electronic Library Online (SciELO) of the Virtual Library in Health (VLH). The sample consisted of 25 articles available between 2000 and 2011. The descriptor 'social representations and aging' was selected for retrieving papers. Results: The analysis of the results was carried out by content analysis technique. In this respect, three thematic categories emerged: (1) Quality of life and health-disease process; (2) social representations about aging, elaborated by elderly members of living together groups; and (3) Care for the elderly people: family-caregivers relationship and institutionalization. Conclusion: The diverse studies have indicated the desire of the elderly in achieving their own autonomy, improving health and quality of life. It is also emphasized the benefits of family ties and care, as well as the overload to which caregivers are subjected.
