ABSTRACT
As to evaluating the medical compliance of patients with chronic hepatitis B (CHB) and the influence factors, information of 163 patients with CHB treated with lamivudine were collected by using the self-designed questionnaire, and the medical compliance and influencing factors of the patients were acquired by the research followed, and the prognosis and allocation were also observed. The results showed the medical compliance in 77.3% of patients with CHB was good, and in 22.7% patients was poor. After following-up for 2 years, the negative rates of HBV DNA and HBeAg shown in patients with good medical compliance were 78.6% and 46.0%, respectively,showing a significantly higher rate than in those with poor medical compliance, which having the rate of 37.8% and 21.6%, respectively (P<0.01). We suggested that there should be a correlation between the medical compliance of patients with CHB and the prognosis.
ABSTRACT
Objective This study was carried out to compare chnical efficiency of methylprednisolone (MP) and dexamethasone (Dex) and their effects on Th cytokines in asthmatic children.Methods A total of 39 children with moderate and severe asthma at acute exacerbation were randomly divided into two groups, one (A) with MP 1 -2 mg/kg (n=21) and the other (B) with Dex 0.25 -0.75 mg/kg (n= 18),every 12 -24 h by intravenous drip.Scores of respiratory effort and peak expiratory flow rate prior to and three days after treatment in the asthmatic children aged over five years were evaluated,respectively,as well as the time of wheezing vanishing after treatment.Serum levels of interleukin-2 (IL-2) and IL-4 were determined by radioimmunoassay (RIA) prior to and three days after treatment,respectively.Results There was statistically significant difference in the time of wheezing vanishing between groups A and B (P = 0.042).Three days after treatment,PEER was significantly higher in group A than that in group B (P = 0.025).No statistically significant difference in serum IL-2 and IL-4,as well as ratio of IL-2/IL-4,was found in group B prior to and three days after treatment (P>0.05).Statistically significant difference in serum IL-2 was not observed in group B prior to and three day after treatment (P>0.05),and serum IL-4 decreased significantly (P=0.001) and ratio of serum IL-2/IL-4 (P=0.027) increased significantly three days after treatment than those prior to treatment.No significant correlation between respiratory-effort scores and ratio of serum IL-2/IL-4 prior to treatment was found (P=0.613).Conclusions Up-regulation of IL-2,or inhibition of release of IL-4,probably is not the main anti-inflammatory mechanism of dexamethasone.Methylprednisolone has little effect on serum IL-2,but can effectively reduce serum IL-4, thus increasing the ratio of serum IL-2/IL-4 and counterbalancing function of the Thl/Th2 cells.
ABSTRACT
In this paper, the numerical simulation for evolution and control of spiral waves in 2D cardiac excitable media is performed; it can be represented as modified FitzHugh-Nagumo (FHN) model by selecting suitable parameter values. When the plane wave being cut, the system can evolve into a spiral wave. The excitability of media can produce effect on the stability of spiral wave. When the excitability is greater than the critical value, the spiral wave core and period tend towards infinity and disappear. The drifting ways of spiral wave tip are different (meandering) in various driving frequencies when one spiral wave is driven by uniform periodic small current. When period T is below or above the resonance period of spiral wave, the spiral wave is in its pedaflower or pediflower orbit, and if the driving period precisely equals the resonance period, the spiral wave tip drifts along a straight line.

In this paper are proposed four heartbeat models which correspond to two different positions of the ectopic pacemaker and two coupling styles of the sinus and ectopic pacemakers. The models computed are based on the modified Ikeda phase resetting model. Most of the heartbeat modes are periodic; they exhibit "Arnold's tongue" structure in parameter plane of perturbing frequency and strength. When the ectopic pacemaker is located in the ventricle, there are bistable dynamic modes. The abnormal hearbeat rhythms of bigeminy and trigeminy in clinical medicine have been observed when coupling strength is weaker in odd resetting or refractory time is longer in even resetting.

We propose a method for effective control of patter on dissipative system by use of little perturbation analysis, and apply this nonuniform feed back method to control the polarization wave of heart represented by FHN equation. In the numerical experiment, we successfully alter the propagating direction of planar waves and drift the spiral waves to boundary without resonant repulsion. The effective control of the excited system will be used to study the mechanism of defibrillation and that is our interesting work.

Objective To investigate the the quasispecies character of 3′ untranlated region(3′ UTR) in hepatitis C virus(HCV) by analysing the nucleotide sequence polymorphism and mutation features in 3′ UTR region.Methods Patients infected with genotype 1b HCV were identified by reverse transcription-nested polymerase chain reaction(RT-PCR) and restriction fragment length polymorphism(RFLP) assay.Fragments of the cDNA of 3′ UTR were amplified using semi-nested RT-PCR,and subjected to cloning.The 12-15 clones that contained HCV 3′UTR gene fragments amplified from each patients were sequenced.Results The full-length sequence of 1b genotype HCV 3′UTR in cDNA were obtained.The 3′UTR region consists of four elements: the 5′ region,the poly(U),poly(U/C) and 98-base region.The nucleotide sequence diversity ranged from 0.2%～2.1% and the mutation points were almost distributed in the the 5′region and poly(U/C).Conclusions The HCV has complex quasispecies character in 3′ UTR.

AIM:To simultaneously determine jatrorrhizine hydrochloride,palmatine hydrochloride,berberine hydrochloride、 evodiamine and rutaecarpine in Zuojin Pill(Rhizoma Coptidis,Fructus Evodiae).METHODS:A RP-HPLC method was established with gradient elution and an agilent C_ 18 column(250 mm?4.6 mm,5 ?m)was used.The mobile phase A was acetonitrile and the mobile phase B was water with 0.3% phosphoric acid-triethylamine.The detective wavelength was at 225 nm.RESULTS:Jatrorrhizine hydrochloride had a good linearity in the range of 0.013-0.065 ?g.The average recovery was 103.1% with RSD of 1.1%.Palmatine hydrochloride had a good linearity in the range of 0.013-0.102 ?g.The average recovery was 99.8% with RSD of 1.9%.Berberine hydrochloride had a good linearity in the range of 0.063-0.317 ?g.The average recovery was 99.8% with RSD of 1.4%.Evodiamine had a good linearity in the range of 0.001-0.007 ?g.The averoge recovery was 100.5% with RSD of 1.5%.Rutaecarpine had a good linearity in the range of 0.002-0.010 ?g.The average recovery was 98.9% with RSD of 1.9%.CONCLUSION:This method is simple,accurate and reproducible.It can be used to determine jatrorrhizine hydrochloride、 palmatine hydrochloride、 berberine hydrochloride、 evodiamine and rutaecarpine together with the same chromatogram condition.
