ABSTRACT

Ischemic stroke is a common neurological disease. MicroRNAs not only play an important role in acute phase of ischemic stroke, but also regulate neurogenesis and angiogenesis after stroke. This article reviews the research progress and prospects of microRNAs as a therapeutic target for ischemic stroke.

ABSTRACT

This study preliminarily discussed the TCM syndrome types of myasthenia gravis (or flaccidity) and its treatments and prescriptions through consensus method,providing evidence and level revision of the recommended expert consensus of myasthenia gravis in TCM clinical practice guideline.Literatures over TCM syndrome types,symptoms,therapeutic regime,medication and acupuncture were involved in the syndrome analysis of myasthenia gravis through literature retrieval.The common clinical syndromes were outputted by mentioned rate.Ten first-rate hospitals were finally included,such as The Affiliated Hospital of Changchun University of Traditional Chinese Medicine,Dongfang Hospital of Beijing University of Chinese Medicine,Guangdong Province Traditional Chinese Medical Hospital and Affiliated Hospital of Anhui University of Traditional Chinese Medicine.Twelve experts in aggregate were confirmed to participate in the discussion for the identification of the TCM syndrome types,treatments and prescriptions of myasthenia gravis.As a result,five TCM syndrome types,such as syndrome of spleen and stomach qi deficiency,syndrome of spleen-kidney deficiency,deficiency syndrome of both qi and yin,syndrome of deficiency and sinking of qi,were confirmed;while five therapeutic regimes were approved,including reinforcement of qi,tonification of spleen and stomach,tonification of spleen and kidney qi,tonification of qi and yin,the supplement of qi and restoration of yang for ascending qi collapse.In addition,five prescriptions were supported by the experts,such as Bu Zhong Yi Qi (BZYQ) decoction,BZYQ decoction combined with You Gui pills,BZYQ decoction combined with Sheng Mai powders and Sheng Xian decoction.In conclusion,the expert consensus method for the screen of TCM syndrome types of myasthenia gravis embodied the conception of literature research based on the clinical practice combined with the scientific methods in conformity with the current research approaches to TCM syndrome types.

ABSTRACT

MicroRNA-494 (miR-494) is one of the microRNAs from 14q32.31 miR-gene cluster.Recently, miR-494 was found to closely relate with tumors and other diseases .This article reviews the expression changes , roles and possible regulatory mechanisms of miR-494 in multiple tumors and other hypoxia/ischemia diseases .Recent studies demon-strate that the expression of miR-494 is affected by many factors , and miR-494 could be a biomarker of diagnosis , staging and prognosis in tumors and other diseases , and a target of therapy in future .

ABSTRACT

Objective To observe level of thyroid and corticosteroid hormone of peacekeepers in South Sudan the harsh environment under stress and explore the changes of hormone and its related causes the body to suffer stress.Methods 25 peacekeepers were drawn blood before going abroad,after going abroad 1 months,4 months and 7 months,respectively.Methods of immune by magnetic separation were adopted and determined the changes of thyroid hormone and cortisol levels.They were compared with before going abroad.Results After going abroad 1 months T3 (1.780 ±0.345)ng/mL,T4 (88.609 ±14.486)ng/mL,FT3 (3.758 ±4.287)pg/mL,FT4 (15.152 ±6.422)pg/mL than before going abroad (1.458 ±0.206)ng/mL,(2.060 ±0.642)ng/mL,(11.672 ±3.627)pg/mL,(96.958 ± 12.286)pg/mL were significantly increased (t =3.670,2.410,2.019,2.798,all P <0.0 ).TSH (1.320 ± 0.518)μIU /mL after going abroad 4 months was lower than before going abroad(1.872 ±0.821)μIU /mL decreased significantly(t =3.175,P <0.05).Conclusion In the role of the environment change of stress factors,changes of thyroid hormone and cortisol levels of body were obvious.We suggest to make countermeasure as soon as possible and appropriate intervention.At the same time the peacekeepers are detected comprehensive hormone detection and psy-chological counseling before going abroad,it is significant for the successful completion of peace -keeping task.

ABSTRACT

Objective To investigate the impact of AG490 on the blood-brain barrier (BBB ) permeability and the expression of interleukin-6 (IL-6 )and tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α)after traumatic brain injury (TBI)in rats. Methods A total of 144 healthy male SD rats were randomly divided into a control group,a trauma group,and an AG490 intervention group (n=48 in each group). The rats in each group were redivided into four subgroups (4 h,1 d,3 d,and 7 d subgroups)according to the time points after cerebral injury (n=12 in each subgroup). A brain trauma models were induced by hydraulic shock method. Evans blue was used to determine the changes of the BBB permeability after cerebral injury in each group. Real-time fluorescence quantitative PCR was to detect the expression levels of TNF-αand IL-6 mRNA in rat brain tissue. Immunohistochemistry was used to detect the expression of human phospho tyrosine kinase (P-JAK2). Results (1)The permeability of BBB:The permeability of BBB increased at 4 h,1 d,3 d and 7 d after brain injury in the trauma group (Evans blue permeation:10. 4 ± 1. 2,16. 0 ± 1. 4,22. 3 ± 2. 0,and 8. 4 ± 0. 9μg/g,respectively). Compared with the control group, there were significant differences (all P<0. 01). The Evans blue permeation of the AG490 intervention group were 9. 1 ± 1. 0,12. 8 ± 1. 1,17. 5 ± 1. 4 and 7. 1 ± 0. 8μg/g,respectively at each time point,and they were all significantly lower than those of the trauma group (all P<0. 01). (2)The expression of IL-6 and TNF-α mRNA:The expression levels of IL-6 mRNA and TNF-α mRNA at 4 h,1 d,3 d and 7 d after traumatic brain injury in the trauma group were 2. 31 ± 0. 35,2. 73 ± 0. 35,3. 32 ± 0. 29,2. 14 ± 0. 24 and 7. 46 ± 1. 18,9. 42 ± 1. 54,13. 76 ± 1. 89,and 6. 28 ± 1. 00,respectively,they were all significantly higher than those of the control group (all P<0. 01). The expression levels of IL-6 mRNA and TNF-α mRNA of the AG490 intervention group were 1. 14 ± 0. 22,1. 54 ± 0. 23,1. 94 ± 0. 32,1. 26 ± 0. 21 and 5. 57 ± 0. 88, 7. 78 ± 1. 02,11. 51 ± 1. 29,and 5. 05 ± 0. 97,respectively,they were all lower than those of the trauma group,but they still higher than the control group. There were significant differences (all P<0. 01). (3 )The expression of P-JAK2:The expression levels of P-JAK2-positive cells at each time point after traumatic brain injury in the trauma group were significantly higher than the control group (all P<0. 01),they were 17. 4 ± 2. 7,56. 2 ± 6. 7,26. 1 ± 5. 4,and 15. 3 ± 2. 5,respectively;those of the AG490 intervention group were 12. 2 ± 1. 4,41. 5 ± 4. 6,19. 4 ± 4. 1,and 9. 6 ± 2. 0,respectively,they were all lower than those of the trauma group,but still higher than the control group. There were significant differences (all P<0. 01). Conclusion During the acute phase after TBI,AG490 may activate the factor signaling pathways by inhibiting the non-receptor tyrosine kinase/signal transduction and transcription,significantly inhibit the expression of brain tissue inflammatory cytokines IL-6 IL-6 and TNF-α,reduce the BBB damage,and help to reduce secondary brain injury.

ABSTRACT

Objective To observe the effect of pure Chinese traditional medicine preparation Fuzheng Anti-poisonous capsule and Kang Aibao Lives capsule to treat HIV/AIDS. Methods 140 examples confirmed by the Yunnan Province Centres for Disease Control and Prevention were treated by Fuzheng anti-poisonous capsule and Kang Aibao Lives Capsule,according to the Chinese medicine syndrome differentiation. 83 cases taking the medicine for more than 6 months were collected. The changes of Chinese medicine clinical symptoms and signs,the clinical symptoms and signs,the integrals,body weights,cold-catching numbers and CD4 were observed. Results The effective rate,steady rate and ineffective rate of Chinese medicine clinical symptom were 79.52%,10.84% and 9.63%,respectively. Increase,stable and reduces of integral were 48.19%,45.78% and 6.02%,respectively. Weight gain,stable and reduce were 56.62%,19.28% and 24.10%,respectively. Reduce,stable and increase of cold-catching number were 46.99%,43.37% and 9.64%,respectively. Effective,stable and ineffective of CD4 was 56.00%,10.67% and 33.33%,respectively. Conclusion The Chinese medicine has the remarkable curative effect in treating AIDS,and also has the obvious superiority.
