Intracranial xanthomas: an unusual presentation of familial hypercholesterolaemia

A 22 year old housewife with multiple superficial xanthomas and characteristic serum lipid profile of Familial Hypercholesterolaemia [FH], presented with intracranial xanthoma which resulted in hydrochephalus. She was operated upon and a histological diagnosis of an intracranial xanthoma was confirmed. The mother of the patient had died at 35 years of age following a similar clinical presentation. An intracranial location of xanthoma in FH is extremely unusual
