ABSTRACT

Bronchial asthma is a kind of respiratory disease which affects people 's life quality seriously. Many factors in-volved in the occurrence and development of such disease, of which the aberrant expression of E-cad plays a critical role in it. Research found that E-cad is an important cell adhesion molecu-lar, and its main function is to maintain the structural integrity of cells and participate in the improvement of airway remodeling as well as restoration of immune function. Further study showed that the role of mucosal barrier of airway epithelial cells in bronchial asthma patients was often damaged. Moreover, the protein ex-pression of E-cad decreased significantly in mucosal molecular, which suggested that the abnormal expression of E-cad was in-volved in the development of bronchial asthma. A review on the relations between the abnormal expression of E-cad protein and bronchial asthma has been discussed in this paper, also it in-cludes the discussion about the mechanisms of E-cad’ s disorder-induced bronchial asthma as well as explores the strategies of bronchial asthma treatment, which may provide references for the follow-up research and clinical treatment.

ABSTRACT

This article is aimed to study the optimal process of preparation of Golden water-soluble gel, and to establish its quality control method. Taking the gel forming properties, stability, water loss rate, pH as investigation index, the best extraction process was screened by single factor and orthogonal test design. TLC method was used to identify the product of trichosanthin, rhubarb, and the content of paeoniflorin was determined by HPLC method. The optimal condition of preparation process is to use 1% carbomer as gel matrix, 10% glycerol as humectants, and 0.5%triethanolamine as pH modulators; trichosanthes and rhubarb could be detected by TLC method, with pH range 5.00 - 5.15. The linear range of paeoniflorin was 29.04-945.20μg·mL-1, the average recovery was 98.80%, and RSD was 2.91% (n=9). Golden gel forming process is simple and quality controllable with reliability and good stability.

ABSTRACT

Objective To establish evaluation methods for compliance of patients taking Chinese medicine decoctions, according to the score of degree and weight for the unreasonable behaviors. Methods The patients taking TCM decoctions during July to December in 2010 were interviewed. Self-made scale was used for questionnaire and interview. The score of degree and weight for the unreasonable behavior were employed as evaluation indexes for compliance (0:complete compliance;0

ABSTRACT

AngiotensinⅡ( AngⅡ) is the main functional bioac-tive peptide of the renin angiotensin system, and its basic function is to regulate salt-water homeostasis and blood pressure. Howev-er,recent studies have shown that AngⅡ plays a very important role in tumor formation and angiogenesis by acting on its type 1 receptor (AT1R) as a kind of potential growth factor. This arti-cle is a brief overview of the research on effects of AngⅡ-AT1R system in the process of tumor angiogenesis in recent years.

ABSTRACT

Objective To study the effect of exogenous 3-deoxyglucosone (3-DG) on blood glucose of normal mice. Methods Kunming male mice were divided into two groups: 3-DG (5mg/kg) treatment and control group. At day 1,week 1 and week 2 after treatment, we compared fasting blood glucose, and did the glucose tolerance test in 3-DG group after 2 weeks' 3-DG administration. Results Blood glucose was increased obviously 2h after administration with 3-DG once versus pre-administration and control (7.78±0.694 vs 6.41±0.408,and 6.43±0.43,all higher than control, but no statistical significance (P>0.05). There were no differences in 6 hour fasting blood glucose after once administration with 3-DG and in 12 hours fasting blood glucose two weeks after administration with 3-DG between 3-DG and Con groups. After 3-DG administration for two weeks,as compared with Con, the 30 minute blood glucose of 3-DG administration mice during OGTT was obviously increased (19.47±1.541 vs 17.22±1.911,P<0.05), but glucose levels at 60 minute and 120 minute had no changes (P>0.05). Conclusions Exogenous 3-DG increases the normal mice's blood glucose immediately after once administration with 3-DG and results in up-moving of glucose physiological curve and leads to a light impairment of glucose tolerance when mice were continuously fed with 3-DG for 2 weeks.
