ABSTRACT

Physical activities affect on antioxidative pathway. Varity, period and intensity of activities are important in health improvement. This study was carried out to determine the effect of short and medium periods of high intensities aerobic training on serum level of superoxide dismutase [SOD] and Catalase [CAT] enzymes in female rats. In this experimental study, 45 Sprague Dawley female rats were randomly allocated into control, short [4 weeks] and medium [8 weeks] of high intensities aerobic training groups. The exercise program was performed on 5 session in each week with speed of 10-17 meters per minute in slope range [5

ABSTRACT

Drug addiction is destructive misfortune and one of the most important problems in the world. Using the medical plants in medicinal history has valuable information and experiments in this field. According to research Trachyspermum copticum L. T. Copticum is effective in reducing of morphine's withdrawal syndrome, so in this study we investigate the effects of T. Copticum microinjection on nucleus reticularis paragigantocellularis [PGi] on morphine's withdrawal syndrome sings [MWSS]. After preparing the T.C fruit from height of the mountain in Khuzestan, aqueous extract of different concentration [Diluted 10, 100, 1000 times] was prepared by suckcele display. 32 male rats [Sprague Dawley with average weigh 250 - 300 gr] were randomized divided to 4 groups which dependent by intraperitoneum [I.P] injection with morphine. After cannulating the PGI with using the set of steriotaxi, microinjection of different doses of T. Copticum in PGI was done and naloxan [5 mg/kg] was injected I.P to groups. Withdrawal syndrome signs [diarrhea, rearing, ptosis, irritability, tremor, agitation] were observed in 4 groups. Data evaluation and analysis was done by t-test and Mann-Whitney. Results show that T.C was significantly effective in reduction of MNSS such as [rearing ptosis, irritability] compared with control group. T. Copticum is probably sensitive on specific receptors in PGI

ABSTRACT

Drug addiction is destructive misfortune. At the present time we have over 1.2 million addicted people in Iran. So, proper and definite treatment must be noticed. Using the medical plants in ancientness like human life and thousand documents in medicinal history have valuable informations and expriments in this field. According to extant investigations, Trachyspermum copticum has numerous effects, such as antiseptic, expectorant, Spasm relaxation and useful in cholesteralemia. But in the belief of Iranian people, this plant is used for treatment of addiction. This project is the first investigation in the world that Iranian researchers evaluated the effect of trachyspermum copticum extract in treatment of morphine dependency. After preparing the trachyspermum copticum fruit from height of the mountain in KHozestan [between izeah and dehdaz], aqueous extract at different concentration [10%, 20%, 30%] was prepared by suckcele display. After the pilot study, 5 groups [50 rats] were dependent by subcotaneus injection with morphine. After insuring the animal dependency. First group has set as a testifire. Second group was affected with methadon treatment and other groups were treated by trachyspermum copticum at different concentration [10%, 20%, 30%]. In all groups after naloxane injection by intraperitoneum injection, we studies morphine dependency that manifestated like diarrhea, weight loss and jumping. At 30% concentration, seven animals were deaed for the reason high concentration of extract. Data evaluation with ANOVA and LSD test showed that trachyspermum copticum is effective like methadone therapy to decrease withdrawal syndrome signs [p<0.05]
