ABSTRACT

Brooding of young chicks [0-4 wk] in cool environment [24.4 C] exposed them to acute stress especially for the 1st few days which was reflected on the health state of the bird all over the growing period. Economic losses were, due to the decrease in live body weight [60.3 gm] and the difference in food conversion [1.96] in comparison with [1.48] in control one [1.48]

ABSTRACT

In the present study, the effect of stocking density on pegion performance was studied, the performance included, consecutive egg laying period, productivity percent. In addition the sequalae of high stocking was studied [Mortality% and the incidence of some diseases]. High stocking density influenced the period of egg incubation and consecutive laying periods. It also decreased the production and increased the susceptibility to diseases

ABSTRACT

Faecal samples collected from the rectum of 4 Zariby kids [2 months of age] suffering from severe diarrhea, were examined for Eimeria, globidium and cryptosporidia oocysts. The effect of temperature and dessication in sunlight and shade on the development of E. arloingi, E. ninakohlyakimovae, E. faurei and E. parva was studied. Some chemical agents were also used to study their effect on the sporulation of the oocysts

ABSTRACT

Twenty two fly [M.domestica] samples were collected from cattle byres, poultry houses and human houses in different localities to investigate the possible role of flies in transmitting pathogenic fungi. A. terreus A. flavus and mucor spp. were isolated from the flies. In addition yeasts [C.albicans and others] were recovered. Great number of fungal isolates were recovered from cattle byre's flies while few isolates were recovered from flies of poultry houses and human houses; respectively

ABSTRACT

The role of newly emerged musca domestica in transmission of human and animal pathogens and the means of control were studied. The results indicated that the newly hatched flies of animal and poultry manure considered as reservoirs of pathogens; E. coli, pseudomonas aurigenosa, staphylococci, salmonellae, streptococci and corynaebacterium renale, as well as different parasitic forms of animal and poultry. Six chemical compounds were tested in the field as Slaked lime, copper sulphate, Borax, Formalin, Diazinon, and Neguvan against the pupal stage of Musca. The efficiency of these chemical compounds indicated that, slaked lime, copper sulphate, Borax and Neguvon were satisfactorly effective
