ABSTRACT

Objective:To study the population distribution of Pomacea spp. in Shandong Province and the risk of angiostrongyliasis cantonensis in the local population, and to provide a basis for scientific prevention and control of related diseases. Methods:From July to December 2021, Yanzhou District of Jining City, Ningyang County of Taian City, and Dongying District of Dongying City were selected as surveillance sites to investigate the population and distribution range of Pomacea spp., live snail samples were collected for morphological and genetic identification, and Pomacea spp. infected with the larva of Angiostrongylus cantonensis was detected by lung test. At the same time, sentinel hospital case surveillance was carried out in Yanzhou District, Jining City, and questionnaire was used to study the local residents' awareness of angiostrongyliasis cantonensis and their personal health behaviors. Results:A total of 312 live snail samples were collected. After morphological identification, they were all Pomacea spp.. After gene sequencing, two populations of Pomacea canaliculata and Pomacea maculata were found. No positive snails infected with Angiostrongylus cantonensis were found. A total of 126 patients with headache as the main neurological symptom were admitted to the sentinel hospital, but there were no monitoring cases that met the inclusion criteria. Among the survey population, 48.38% (134/277) of the respondents had heard of angiostrongyliasis cantonensis, 44.77% (124/277) knew that eating Margarya melanioides might cause angiostrongyliasis cantonensis, and 83.39% (231/277) had no related unhealthy eating behavior. Conclusion:Pomacea spp. is found and reported for the first time in Shandong Province, and there is a risk of population infection with angiostrongyliasis cantonensis.

ABSTRACT

Objective To observe the clinical effect ofintravitreal injection of tissue plasminogen activator (t-PA),ranibizumab and C3F8 in the treatment of early submacular hemorrhage (SMH) induce to polypoid choroidal vasculopathy (PCV).Methods The clinical data of 20 eyes of 20 patients with early SMH induce to PCV were enrolled in this study. The duration of bleeding in the eye was 7 to 28 days, and the mean duration of bleeding was 14.8± 5.6 days. All eyes are measured using the Snellen chart best corrected visual acuity (BCVA),logarithm of the minimum angle of resolution (logMAR) was used to calculate visual acuity.Measure central retinal thickness (CRT) and central retinal pigment epithelial detachment (PED) thickness using frequency-domain optical coherence tomography. The average logMAR BCVA of eyes was 1.73 ±0.91;the mean CRT was 620.0±275.8 μm;the average central PED thickness was 720.3±261.9 μm.All eyes receive intravitreal injection of t-PA,ranibizumab and C3F8.The intravitreal injection of ranibizumab was administered once a month for 3 consecutive months, followed by an on-demand treatment plan.Mean follow-up time was 9.9 ± 3.6 months. The changes in BCVA,CRT,central PED thickness and clearance degree of SMH at 6 months after treatment were observed. Results On the 6 months after treatment, the average logMAR BCVA,CRT and central PED thickness of the eyes were respectively 0.42 ± 0.37,290.2 ± 97.4 μmn and 41.6 ± 78.1 μm.Compared with baseline, the after treatment BCVA was significantly increased (F=38.14,P=0.000),but the CRT and central PED were significantly decreased (F=7.48,75.94;P=0.000,0.000).Among the 20 eyes,16 eyes of SMH was completely cleared, accounting for 80%;4 eyes was partially cleared, accounting for 20%.No recurrence and systemic or local complications occurred during follow-up of all eyes. Conclusion Intravitreal injection oftPA,ranibizumab, and C3F8 in the treatment of early SMH induce to PCV can effectively remove SMH,improve vision, reduce CRT and central thickness of PED.

ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVETo compare the difference of the clinical efficacy in treatment of nervous tinnitus of kidney deficiency between the combined therapy of Zhuang medicine at Qineihuan point combined with the conventional acupuncture and simple conventional acupancture.

METHODSSixty patients were randomized into an observation group and a control group, 30 cases in each one. In the control group, the conventional acupuncture was applied to Taixi (KI 3), Zhaohai (KI 6), Tinggong (SI 19) and Waiguan (TE 5), etc. and the needles were retained for 30 min. In the observation group, on the basic treatment as the control group, Zhuang medicine acupuncture at Qineihuan point was added. The treatment was given once every day, 10 treatments made one session and there were 2 days of interval between the sessions. In 3 sessions of treatment, the changes of tinnitus were observed and the clinical efficacy was evaluated.

RESULTSAfter treatment, tinnitus score and tinnitus grade were all improved as compared with those before treatment in the two groups (all P<0. 05) and the results in the observation group were better than those in the control group (all P<0. 05). The curative and remarkably effective rate was 63. 3% (19/30) and the total effective rate was 93. 3% (28/30) in the observation group, better than 30. 0% (9/30) and 73. 3% (22/30) in the control group (both P<0. 05).

CONCLUSIONThe combined therapy of Zhuang medicine at Qineihuan point and conventional acupuncture achieves the better efficacy on nervous tinnitus of kidney deficiency as compared with the simple conventional acupuncture.
