ABSTRACT

A large amount of information, such as clinical hematological data and imaging images, can be extracted by artificial intelligence to form various quantifiable features, analyze the association between different features and problems concerned (such as diagnosis), and thus solve complex medical problems. This article elaborates on the efficiency of various artificial intelligence algorithms in the diagnosis of pancreatic cancer, hepatic fibrosis, and esophageal varices, so as to help clinicians with clearer understanding and better decision-making.

ABSTRACT

Nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) is the most important chronic liver disease in China, with increasing morbidity and mortality rates of extrahepatic diseases such as cardiovascular diseases and portal vein thrombosis (PVT). NAFLD complicated by PVT has a different mechanism from liver cirrhosis. Starting from grade Ⅲ coagulation disorder, this article elaborates on the pathogenesis of NAFLD complicated by PVT from three different grades and in steps and describes the new concept of sports and exercise in the prevention and treatment of NAFLD complicated by PVT, which brings a technical challenge for liver transplantation recipients with NAFLD complicated by PVT and is of great significance to improve the prognosis and quality of life of patients.

ABSTRACT

Coronavirus disease 2019 caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 has become a serious threat to global public health security. Besides lung diseases, severe cases are also accompanied by varying degrees of liver injury. Previous studies have shown that patients infected with severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus and Middle East respiratory syndrome coronavirus may also suffer from liver injury, which is closely associated with disease severity. This article elaborates on the clinical features and pathogenesis of liver injury caused by these three types of highly pathogenic human coronavirus, in order to help clinicians better understand this disease and make accurate decisions.

ABSTRACT

Nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) is characterized by the pathological feature of hepatocyte fatty degeneration and lipid accumulation, and liver histopathology evolves from simple liver fatty degeneration to steatohepatitis with hepatocellular injury and finally progresses to liver fibrosis, liver cirrhosis, and even liver cancer. NAFLD is closely associated with metabolic syndrome and colorectal tumors and can even lead to disability and death, and therefore, it is of great importance to diagnose nonalcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH) as early as possible and clarify liver fibrosis degree. As the gold standard for determining the liver histopathological grade and stage of NAFLD, liver biopsy has always been a main method for the diagnosis of liver fibrosis. However, the limitations of liver biopsy have greatly promoted the rapid development of noninvasive diagnostic techniques in recent years. The sensitivity and specificity of serology models and imaging tests in the diagnosis of NASH and early-stage liver fibrosis need to be improved. This article reviews the advances in noninvasive diagnostic methods for progressive NAFLD.

ABSTRACT

Objective To research the monoclonal antibody KMP1 inhibited bladder cancer EJ cell lines growth and metastasis in vivo by bioluminescence imaging. Methods Immunohistochemistry was used to determine the KMP1 binding to EJ and EJ-GFP cell lines. The xenograft tumor cell growth and distribution were measured by vernier calipers and dynamic in vivo fluorescence imaging. Immunohistochemistry and H&E counterstaining researched the feature of the xenograft tumor. Results Cell growth curves of EJ and EJ-GFP cells were similar. EJ-GFP had a green fluorescence. In EJ-GFP nude mouse tumor model, the addition of KMP1 significantly inhibited tumor growth and extended the average life span of nude mice. Both EJ and EJ-GFP cells can bind to KMP1,and the weight of transplanted tumors in the KMP1 treatment group was significantly lower than that of the mIgG control group (P<0.001).Conclusion KMP1 has a promising antitumor effect in vivo. It might be valuable for development as a promising targeted agent for bladder cancer.

ABSTRACT

A novel immunochromatographic assay was developed, which could provide visual evidence of triazophos in agro products, and also could directly identify the safety status by setting visual cut-off limit of detection in maximal residual limit ( MRL) value. Three test lines ( T1, T2, T3) were applied to the nitrocellulose membrane with different concentrations of Triazophos-OVA, and one control line (C) was settled with goat anti mouse IgG antibody. Thereafter, by combining with conjugate pad which immobilized monoclonal antibody labeled with 20 nm Colloidal gold particles, absorbent pad and PVC plate, a chromatographic test strip was assembled. With optimization of sample extraction and solvents selection, the test strips were employed for the determination of triazophos in rice, cabbage and apple. The results revealed that the cut-off limit of detection could reach 0. 005, 0. 01 and 0. 02 μg / mL represented by test line T3, T2 and T1, respectively. After modification, the cut-off limit of detection was resettled to 0. 05, 0. 1 and 0. 2 μg / mL according to the MRL values which enforced by the national standard of GB2763. Using acetonitrile for the sample extraction, the extracts were diluted 10 times or solvent exchanged with equivalent volume by PBS solution, and then tested by strips descripted above mentioned. The two test strips could precisely identified the safety status of agro product with MRL as threshold within 8-12 min. Furthermore, the residues value of triazophos could be quantified by the multiple quantitative test lines. Parallel GC data indicated that the strip had no false negative. This MRL-based multiple quantitative triazophos detection strip would provide a simple, direct, accurate and the most intuitionistic performance for the evaluation of agro product safety.

ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVETo compare therapeutic effects of elongated needle therapy and routine acupuncture therapy on dysuria induced by benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH).

METHODSRandomized, controlled, multi-central method was adopted and 150 cases confirmed to the enrolled criteria were divided into two groups by odd or even number, an elongated needle group (n = 72) and a routine acupuncture group (n = 78). Acupuncture was given at bilateral Zhibian (BL 54) and Zhongji (CV 3) in the two groups, once daily, 5 sessions constituting one course, with a 2-day interval between two courses. The treatment was given for 2 courses. Changes of I-PSS symptom cumulative score, urine flowing rate, residual urine in bladder before and after the treatment were observed.

RESULTSThe effective rate was 83.3% in the elongated needle group and 44.9% in the routine acupuncture group. There were significant differences between the two groups in improvemet of I-PSS score, increase of urine flowing rate and reduction of residual urine in bladder (all P < 0.05).

CONCLUSIONThe elongated needle therapy has a definite therapeutic effect on dysuria induced by benign prostatic hyperplasia.
