ABSTRACT

16 cases of high risk keratoplasty patients were divided into two groups. The 1st group was given topical and systemic steroids for four months after surgery. The second group was given topical and systemic steroids as before together with systemic cyclosporin for two months. Results of the 2nd group were significantly better p=0.0001, side effects of cyclosporine were dose dependent and responded well to dose reduction

ABSTRACT

Different techniques of n-butyl-2-cyanoacrylate monomer application were done for 50 pterygium surgery. It was corneo-limbal in 10 eyes, Limbal in 10, Limbo-scleral in 10 and scleral in 10 eyes. No adhesive substance was used in the last 10 eyes, as a control. We have obtained favourable results with the adhesive substance, it is proved that it is quite safe and satisfactory as regards the low incidence of recurrence

ABSTRACT

Fifteen case were collected from Ain Shams University hospital representing different manifestations of persistent hyaloid vascular system within 5 years. Different manifestations were found, ranging from small arteriovenous loop, up to definite leucocoria. A study of the embryology of hyaloid artery is presented, as well as, enumeration of the common findings in this anomaly with their clinical importance
