ABSTRACT
La Gerencia de Calidad aparece formalmente en la estructura del Instituto Nacional de Higiene Rafael Rangel desde 1993, creada con la finalidad de apoyar y coordinar la mejora de los procesos de producción de bienes y prestación de servicios que el Instituto ofr ece. La Gestión de la Calidad ha transcurrido por diferentes etapas desde la creación de la Gerencia, actuando como ente propulsor en la implantación, mantenimiento y mejora del Sistema de Gestión de la Calidad en el Instituto, así como en sus inicios apoyó las actividades de instauración de la Planta Productora de Vacunas (hoy ESPROMED BIO), a través de la labor de las distintas áreas que la integran: Documentación, Auditorías y Aseguramiento de la Calidad, éste último conformado por las ár eas Validación y Metr ología. Esta gerencia actualmente tiene planteados diversos proyectos relacionados con la sistematización de los procesos, la gestión de riesgos, los laboratorios de calibración y verificación y la calificación de las cabinas de seguridad, a fin de cubrir las necesidades de los nuevos tiempos, aprovechando los recursos disponibles y la formación técnica de su personal
The Quality Management Office appears formally in the structure of the National Institute of Hygiene Rafael Rangel since 1993, created with the purpose of supporting and coordinating the improvement of the processes of production of goods and provision of services that the Institute offers. Quality Management has gone through different stages since the creation of the Office, acting as a propelling entity in the implementation, maintenance and improvement of the Quality Management System in the Institute, as well as in its beginning supported in the establishment activities of the Vaccine Production Plant (today ESPROMED BIO), through the work of the different areas that comprise it: Documentation, Audits and Quality Assurance, this latter consisting of the Validation and Metrology areas. This management currently has several projects related to the systematization of processes, risk management, calibration and verification laboratories and the qualification of security booths, in order to cover the needs of the new times, taking advantage of the available resources and the technical training of its personnel.
