ABSTRACT

RESUMEN Objetivo Identificar los factores que condicionan el acceso a los servicios de salud de las personas privadas de la libertad en el establecimiento penitenciario y carcelario La Paz del municipio de Itagüí, en Antioquia (Colombia), en el 2012. Materiales y métodos Estudio descriptivo transversal soportado en encuestas a una muestra de 126 privados de la libertad de dicha institución. Se aplicaron técnicas de estadística descriptiva e inferencial: medias, proporciones y pruebas de significancia estadística. Resultados La mayoría califica adecuada o muy adecuada la continuidad, oportunidad e integralidad de la atención. Todos valoran como bueno o muy bueno el trato recibido. A cerca de un tercio le fueron negados o entregados parcialmente los medicamentos recetados. El 35,7% perdió citas médicas por problemas administrativos y la mayoría manifiesta no tener información suficiente sobre sus derechos en salud. El 66,7% declara que su salud empeoró o permaneció igual luego de haber sido atendido. Conclusiones Una alta proporción logra acceder a los servicios y califica positivamente la atención médica, pero persisten barreras de acceso a medicamentos, problemas de información sobre derechos y valoraciones negativas sobre el impacto de la atención médica recibida.(AU)


ABSTRACT Objective Identify the conditions of access to health services of persons deprived of their Liberty (PDL) in the Penitentiary and Prison La Paz in Itagüí, Antioquia in 2012. Materials and Methods It is a cross-sectional descriptive study based on primary information obtained from a survey applied to a sample of 126 inmates of this institution. Descriptive and inferential statistics techniques were used: means, proportions and tests of statistical significance. Results The majority qualify adequate or very adequate continuity, opportunity and integrality of care. Everyone values how good or very good the treatment received. About one-third were denied or partially given the prescription drugs. 35.7% lost medical appointments due to administrative problems and most of them did not have sufficient information about their health rights. 66.7% said that their health deteriorated or remained the same after having been treated. Conclusions A high proportion of this people access services and qualify medical care positively, but there are still barriers to access to medicines, problems with information about rights, and negative evaluations of the impact of medical care received.(AU)

ABSTRACT

Este estudio descriptivo de corte transversal utilizó métodos cuantitativos y fuentes primarias de información, mediante 170 encuestas, para caracterizar la accesibilidad a los servicios de salud de las internas e hijos(as) convivientes del Centro de Reclusión para Mujeres El Buen Pastor de Medellín (Antioquia), en el año 2009. Los resultados indican que son mujeres en su mayoría antioqueñas, edad promedio 36 años, educación secundaria, solteras y procedentes de estratos socioeconómicos bajos. La reclusión desmejoró su afiliación al Sistema General de Seguridad Social en Salud. Cuando necesitaron servicios de salud fueron atendidas principalmente en el Establecimiento. Se concluye que a pesar de acceder a los servicios de salud, las internas manifestaron un alto grado de insatisfacción, principalmente por demoras en la atención, insuficiencia de recursos y dificultades en los trámites administrativos. This cross section descriptive study made use of quantitative methods and primary sources of information by means of 170 surveys to characterize the accessibility to health services of the imprisoned women and their cohabitant children in El Buen Pastor Women’s Detention Center of Medellin, Antioquia in 2009. The results indicate that the majority of them are from Antioquia, their average data is 36 years old, secondary education, singles and proceeding from the low socioeconomic sector. Imprisonment damaged their affiliation to the General Social Security in Health System. When they needed health services they were mainly assisted in the establishment. It is concluded that in spite of acceding to the health services, the imprisoned women expressed a high grade of dissatisfaction principally because of delays in the attention, insufficiency of resources and difficulties in the administrative proceedings. Este estudo descritivo de corte transversal utilizou métodos quantitativos e fontes primárias de informação, mediante aplicação de 170 formulários, para caracterizar a acessibilidade aos serviços de saúde das internas e seus filhos (as) conviventes no Centro de Reclusão para Mulheres El Buen Pastor de Medellín (Antioquia), no ano 2009. Os resultados indicam que são mulheres na maioria antioqueñas, idade média de 36 anos, nível educativo secundária, solteiras e provindas de estratos socioeconômicos baixos. Afiliação ao Sistema Geral de Segurança Social em Saúde piorou pela reclusão. Quando elas precisaram de serviços de saúde foram atendidas principalmente no Estabelecimento. Conclui-se que, embora acessar aos serviços de saúde, as internas manifestaram alto grau de insatisfação principalmente por demoras na atenção, insuficiência de recursos e dificuldades nas tramitações administrativas.
