ABSTRACT
Se exponen los conceptos principales sobre la fisiopatología del síntoma prurito. Se exponen 2 grandes grupos clasificatorios para incluir a los pacientes que consultan por este motivo. Se detallan las principales causas y se exponen los complementarios indispensables a indicar en la atención primaria de salud según sea el grupo clasificatorio donde se incluya al paciente.
The main concepts on the physiopathology of pruritus are dealth with. The 2 large classificatory groups used to include those patients attended at the physician's office for this reason are shown. Details are given on the fundamental causes and the indispensable complementary tests to be indicated at the primary health care level according to the classificatory group of the patient are approached.
