ABSTRACT
Se realizó un estudio observacional descriptivo de 1136 pacientes operados de catarata por vía corneal convencional con anestesia combinada tópica-intracamerular, en el período comprendido de agosto de 2003 a agosto del 2005 en el servicio de Oftalmología del Hospital Provincial Antonio Luaces Iraola. Con el objetivo de describir el comportamiento del uso de la anestesia tópica-intracamerular en la cirugía de la Catarata por vía corneal, se analizaron las variables de edad, sexo, tipo de catarata, complicaciones transoperatorias y la disminución de los costos, los resultados se presentan en tablas y gráficos. En el análisis de los resultados encontramos predominio del sexo masculino (52,37 por ciento) Los grupos de edades de 60-69 y 70-79 años fueron los más frecuentes, según el tipo de Catarata la senil estuvo presente en el 81,47 por ciento. La complicación transoperatoria más frecuente fue la ruptura de cápsula posterior con pérdida de vítreo y se ahorraron $0.86 por cada Catarata operada.
A descriptive observational study of 1136 patients operated of cataract by the conventional corneal route with combined topical intracameral anesthesia was undertaken, in the time period from August 2003 to August 2005 at the ophthalmologic service of the Dr.Antonio Luaces Iraola hospital, which purpose was to describe the behavior of the use of the topical intracameral anesthesia in the surgery of cataract by corneal route. Variables are adjusted for age and sex, type of cataract, transoperative complications and the diminution of costs. Results are shown in tables and graphics. In the analysis of the results we found that males were predominant as high as (52.37%). The most frequent age groups were of 60-69 and 70-79 years of age ; according to the type of cataract, the Senile was present in (81,47%). The more frequent transoperative complication was the posterior capsule rupture with vitreous loss and $0,86 saved for each cataract operation.
