ABSTRACT

@#AIM: To compare the clinical efficacy and safty of 25G and 27G pars planavitrectomy(PPV)in the treatment of rhegmatogenous retinal detachment(RRD)with air tamponade.<p>METHODS: Sixty-three cases(63 eyes)with RRD underwent 27G or 25G PPV from May 2016 to June 2018 were retrospectively reviewed. Thirty-three eyes(33 eyes)for 25G vitrectomy and 30 eyes underwent 27G vitrectomy. The main outcome measurements of the study included the best corrected visual acuity(BCVA, LogMAR), intraocular pressure, surgicaltime, retinal reattachment rate, intraoperative and postoperative complications.<p>RESULTS: There were no significant differences in baseline demographic between the two groups(<i>P</i>>0.05). The BCVA was increased significantly in both groups(all <i>P</i><0.01), but there was no significant difference in terms of visual improvement between the two groups(<i>P</i>>0.05). The mean surgical time in the 25G group was(44.13±5.9)min, which was no significant difference than that of 27G group(46.07±6.1)min(<i>t</i>=0.028, <i>P</i>=0.412). The retinal reattachment rate after a single operation was 91% and 93% for 25G and 27G group respectively(χSymbolr@@=0.015, <i>P</i>=0.902). There was no significant difference about hypotony(<6mmHg, 1mmHg=0.133kPa)between the 25G group(15%)and the 27G group(10%),(χSymbolr@@=0.376, <i>P</i>=0.540). No serious complication such as choroidal detachment and endophthalmitis was observed in both groups.<p>CONCLUSION: This study finds no significant differences in the surgical time, the rate of reattachment of retina, improvement of BCVA and complications between the 25G or 27G vitrectomy for rhegmatogenous retinal detachment with air tamponade. 27G vitrectomy with air tamponade seems to be a safe, economical and effective surgery for RRD.

ABSTRACT

It has been found that multiple solid tumors were positive for anaplastic lymphoma kinase (ALK) currently.ALK might be associated with the genesis, development and prognosis of tumor. It is important to localization accurately diagnose the tumor expressed ALK and the subcellular of positive expression of ALK to underway individual precise therapy on rear rangement type of ALK,diagnosis of carcinoma and prognosis and using of ALK inhibitor. This paper mainly reviews the clinicopathological features of ALK positive tumor and its targeted treatment status.

ABSTRACT

AIM To compare the effects of three preparation technologies on the oral bioavailability of HB (berberine α-hydroxy β-decanoylethyl sulfonate, houttuyn berberine).METHODS Solid dispersions,HP-β-CD inclusion complexes and nanosuspension freeze-dried powders were prepared. The suspensions of crude drug and these three preparations were intragastrically administered to SD rats,respectively.HPLC-MS/MS was adopted in the content determination of HB in plasma.then pharmacokinetics parameters were calculated.RESULTS Compared with the crude drug, three preparation technologies could significantly increase the Cmax value of this component (P < 0.05),especially for HP-β-CD inclusion complexes (P < 0.01).And HP-β-CD inclusion complexes demonstrated much higher AUC0-6h than the crude drug and the other two preparation technologies (P < 0.05).CONCLUSION HP-β-CD inclusion complexes can effectively increase the oral bioavailability of HB.

ABSTRACT

Objective To develop an accurate, reliable method without the need of initialization in animal PET modeling for estimation of the tracer kinetic parameters based on the artificial immune network. Methods The hepatic and left ventricular time activity curves (TACs) were obtained by drawing ROIs of liver tissue and left ventricle on dynamic 18F-FDG PET imaging of small mice.Meanwhile, the blood TAC was analyzed by sampling the tail vein blood at different time points after injection. The artificial immune network for parametric optimization of pharmacokinetics (PKAIN) was adapted to estimate the model parameters and the metabolic rate of glucose (Ki) was calculated. Results TACs of liver, left ventricle and tail vein blood were obtained.Based on the artificial immune network,Ki in 3 mice was estimated as 0.0024,0.0417 and 0.0047,respectively.The average weighted residual sum of squares of the output model generated by PKAIN was less than 0.0745 with a maximum standard deviation of 0.0084,which indicated that the proposed PKAIN method can provide accurate and reliable parametric estimation. Conclusion The PKAIN method could provide accurate and reliable tracer kinetic modeling in animal PET imaging without the need of initialization of model parameters.

ABSTRACT

<p><b>OBJECTIVE</b>To evaluate early clinical outcome after arthroscopic treatment of elbow dysfunction.</p><p><b>METHODS</b>From September 2007 to December 2009, 21 patients with elbow dysfunction were treated with an arthroscopic procedure. All patients had chronic history of elbow dysfunction. Extension lag was 18.2° (10° - 25°) combined with pain. All patients underwent five-portals arthroscopic release and debridement. Postoperative care including anti-infection, rehabilitation and prophylaxis of myositis ossificans were prescribed. All elbows were assessed for increase in ROM and Mayo assessment before and after surgery. Mayo score assessment: ≥ 90 points, excellent; 75 - 89 points, good; 60 - 74 points, common; < 60, bad. Complications were evaluated.</p><p><b>RESULTS</b>At an average follow-up of 19.7 months (6 - 29 months), all patients had improvement of extension and relief of pain. The average lag of extension was 2.4° (0° - 5°). Pre-operative Mayo assessment: good, 13 patients; common, 5 patients; bad, 3 patients. Post-operation Mayo assessment: excellent, 17 patients; good, 4 patients; common, 0 patients; bad, 0 patient. There was no complication in this case serial.</p><p><b>CONCLUSIONS</b>Arthroscopic surgery can minimize trauma and bleeding, and reduce complications. Combined with reasonable rehabilitation, arthroscopic surgery can improve elbow function and appears to be satisfactory management.</p>
