ABSTRACT

To report a case of Noonan-like syndrome with loose anagen hair, and to detect gene mutations in the family. A 3-year-old female patient presented with a special facial appearance, short stature, deep palmar and plantar creases, and dark skin. The scalp hair was sparse and thin, dermoscopy showed black spot sign, single-hair follicular units, hair shafts varying in the diameter, upright hair and new vellus hair, and constriction of hair shafts and nodular hair were occasionally observed. Peripheral blood samples were collected from the proband and her parents, and the genomic DNA was extracted for whole-exome sequencing. A heterozygous missense mutation c.4A>G was identified in exon 2 of the SHOC2 gene in the proband, resulting in the substitution of serine by glycine at amino acid position 2 (p.S2G) . The mutation was not identified in either of her parents. Combined with the clinical phenotype and gene mutation, the diagnosis of Noonan-like syndrome with loose anagen hair was confirmed.

ABSTRACT

Objective To evaluate the impact of motivational interviewing (MI) on the illness perception in patients after percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI). Methods Totally 160 patients after PCI were randomly divided into two groups. The patients in the control group (n=85) received routine education, while patients in the intervention group (n=75) were received 4 times MI (during hospitalization, before discharge, 1 month after discharge, 3 months after discharge), 20 min for each time. Illness perception was appraised before and after the intervention in both groups. Results The mean scores of illness perception in the intervention group, including symptom perception, disease perception and cause perception, were 5.85±1.75, 3.65±0.66, 2.85±0.30,which were significantly higher than that of the control group after the intervention, 4.84 ± 1.09, 2.92 ± 0.61, 2.48 ± 0.31, the differences were significantly statistical (t=2.248, 3.717, 3.926, all P<0.05). Conclusions MI is much more effective than routine education on the improvement of illness perception in patients after PCI.

ABSTRACT

In order to solve the problems of feeble research foundation and inadequate experiment skills,the central laboratory for science and technology at general hospital introduced a series of minilectures with different styles for research-oriented graduate students in Chinese Traditional Medicine,including basic strengthening style,tailored style,leading innovated style and academic salon style.The minilecture contents covered biomedical basic research,the commonly used experimental technologies of cell culture,molecular biology,histochemistry and some others,and the latest research advances.According to the needs of postgraduate research projects,the mini-lectures were also organically combined with the laboratory self-produced micro videos and scientific research training,which aroused the enthusiasm of medical science postgraduates for scientific research participation,and explored a new way to improve the quality of experimental teaching.

ABSTRACT

The laboratory of science and technology center at general hospital explored the appli-cation of PDCA cycle in the bio-safety training for research-oriented medical postgraduates, and then analyzed the effect of the training. The laboratory applied the PDCA cycle (Plan-Do-Check-Act) into the bio-safety training practice based on its own characteristics. The 4 links of bio-safety practice including bio-safety factors analysis, training plan implementation, training effectiveness evaluation and problems feed-back were integrated with 4 processes of PDCA cycle management. In view of the problems existing in the laboratory bio-safety training, the PDCA cycle model was applied to bio-safety training. Though the PDCA cycle, the laboratory can establish a bio-logical safety quality monitoring mechanism and achieve the system-atization, standardization and normalization of biosafety training.

ABSTRACT

Objective To study distribution rules of TCM syndrome characteristics of menopausal syndrome; To provide references for clinical treatment and further study.Methods The articles related to menopausal syndrome in CNKI, VIP, Wanfang Data, CBM and TCMDS during Jun. 1983 to Jun. 2013 were retrieved and analyzed. The original data were input into computer and established the menopausal syndrome literature database. Methods of cluster analysis, factor analysis, and frequency analysis were combined to conduct statistical analysis.Results A total of 270 articles and 730 patients were included in the analysis, including 42 syndromes and 73 symptoms. The four diagnostic information of top 9 syndromes was analyzed by clustering and 5 kinds of basic syndrome types were obtained, including liver and kidney yin deficiency, liver depression, heart-kidney disharmony, heart and spleen deficiency, and spleen and kidney yang deficiency; the core symptoms of each syndrome were extracted by factor analysis and frequency dominance method, and the main points of syndrome differentiations were initially established. Conclusion Three methods combined with relevant expert advice were used to initially establish the syndrome diagnosis of menopause syndrome, which can lay a solid foundation for further study.

ABSTRACT

Objective To establish the optimum syndrome classification method by using the technology of modern TCM diagnosis and artificial intelligence analysis method for menopausal syndrome differentiation of TCM. Methods Diagnostic information of menopausal syndrome patients was collected and syndromes were classified according to TCM syndrome differentiation standard. Three kinds of common data mining classification algorithm, Bayesian network, K-nearest neighbors and support vector machine, were used for analysis on information data of the four methods of diagnosis of menopausal syndrome.Results The time, classification accuracy, coverage rate and margin curve of establishing TCM syndrome model by the three kinds of algorithm methods under the circumstances of same training and data. The influence of the number of training samples of 3 kinds of algorithm methods was analyzed, and the model established by the three kinds of algorithms was evaluated.Conclusion Bayesian network algorithm is better than the other two methods in the menopausal syndrome classification effect.

OBJECTIVE:To optimize the ethanol mixed-extraction technology of Red ginseng and Salvia miltiorrhiza in Xin-likang granules. METHODS:L9(34)orthogonal test was adopted to optimize ethanol mixed-extraction technology with ethanol vol-ume fraction,amount of ethanol and extraction times as factors using weighting coefficient comprehensive score of the contents of ginsenoside Rg1,Re and Rb1 in R. ginseng and the contents of tanshinone ⅡA and salvianolic acid B in S. miltiorrhiza as index;and the verification test was detected. RESULTS:Optimal mixed-ethanol extraction technology was as follows as 6-fold 70% etha-nol,reflux extracting for 3 times,2 h each time. In verification test,average contents of ginsenosides Rg1,Re,Rb1 in R. ginseng and those of tanshinone ⅡA and salvianolic acid B in S. miltiorrhiza were 3.963 8,0.757 3,4.986 2,0.964 7,27.662 5 mg/g,re-spectively,and comprehensive score was 0.96 (RSD=1.26%,n=3). CONCLUSIONS:Ethanol extraction technology of R. gin-seng and S. miltiorrhiza in Xinlikang granules optimized by multiple indexes comprehensive score combined with orthogonal test is stable,reasonable and feasible.

ABSTRACT

Objective To evaluate the efficacy and safety of focal fractional laser treatment(FFLT)for atrophic acne scars. Methods A randomized, self-controlled study was performed. A total of 20 patients with atrophic facial acne scars were enrolled into this study. Treatments were randomly administered in a split-face manner. Half of each subject′s face received FFLT(FFLT side), and the other half underwent full-face fractional CO2 laser resurfacing(control side), for one session. All the patients were followed up for 3 months after the treatment. Evaluation was based on the ECCA grading scale (échelle d′évaluation clinique des cicatrices d′acné)and patient satisfaction score. A VISIA skin detector was used to take photographs and evaluate skin texture. Moreover, physical parameters of the skin, including erythema index, melanin index and transepidermal water loss (TEWL), were measured. Adverse effects were recorded and evaluated. Statistical analysis was carried out by paired t test, Wilcoxon paired rank test, Fisher′s exact test and repeated-measure analysis of variance. Results The ECCA score decreased from 51.24 ± 17.61 at the baseline to 34.46 ± 14.99 at 3 months after the treatment at the FFLT side(t = 7.886, P 0.05). Compared with those before the treatment, skin texture scores decreased in both sides (both P 0.05)from 2 weeks to 3 months after the treatment(all P > 0.05). Conclusion FFLT can improve therapeutic outcomes in atrophic acne scars with reduced adverse reactions.

ABSTRACT

This paper is aimed to observe the difference of facial color of people with different health status by spectral photometric color measuring technique according to the theory of facial color diagnosis in Internal Classic. We gathered the facial color information about the health status of persons in healthy group (183), sub-healthy group (287) and disease group (370) respectively. The information included L, a, b, C values and reflection of different wavelengths in 400-700nm with CM-2600D spectral photometric color measuring instrument on 8 points. The results indicated that overall complexion color values of the people in the three groups were significantly different. The persons in the disease group looked deep dark in features. The people in the sub-healthy group looked pale in features. The loci L, a, b, C values were with varying degrees of significant differences (P < 0.05) at 6 points among the groups, and the central position of the face in all the groups was the position with most significant differences. Comparing the facial color information at the same point of the people in the three groups, we obtained each group's diagnostic special point. There existed diagnostic values in distinguishing disease status and various status of health in some degree by spectral photometric color measuring technique. The present method provides a prosperous quantitative basis for Chinese medical inspection of the complexion diagnosis.

ABSTRACT

Objective: To investigate the mechanism of improvement effect of electro-acupuncture at acupoint Neiguan (PC 6) on acute myocardial ischemia (AMI). Methods: Ninety-six rats were randomly divided into sham-operation group, myocardial ischemia model group and myocardial ischemia model plus electro-acupuncture group, the rat model of AMI was established by occlusion of the anterior descending branch of the left coronary artery, then electro-acupuncture therapy was performed at bilateral acupoint Neiguan (PC 6). The myocardial enzyme activities in plasma was detected with biochemical method, and the myocardial c-fos gene expression was detected with reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction(RT-PCR) method. Results: The myocardial enzyme activities in plasma and the myocardial c-fos gene expression in myocardial ischemia model group were obviously higher than those in sham group(P< 0.05), after electro-acupuncture treatment, the myocardial enzyme activities in plasma and the myocardial c-fos gene expression were decreased,there was a significant difference (P< 0.05). Conclusion: The mechanism of improvement effect of electro-acupuncture at acupoint Neiguan (PC 6) on AMI is related to down-regulation of the myocardial c-fos mRNA expression.
