ABSTRACT

Objective To study the diagnostic value of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and spiral CT in thyroid microcarcinoma (TMC), in order to improve the diagnostic accuracy of TMC. Methods The preoperative imaging manifestations of MRI and spiral CT in 68 TMC patients who were confirmed by surgical pathology were retrospectively analyzed, and the diagnostic accordance rates were compared between the independent and the combined diagnosis. Results The diagnostic accordance rates of MRI and spiral CT in TMC were 73.53%(50/68) and 66.18%(45/68). The diagnostic accordance of combined MRI and spiral CT in TMC was 88.24%(60/68). The diagnostic accordance rate of combined MRI and spiral CT was significantly higher than that of independent examine, and there was statistical difference (P0.05). Conclusions Spiral CT is superior to MRI in the micro-calcification detection, and MRI, with a high resolution of soft tissue, can display the lesions of surrounding tissue organs and neck lymph node metastasis better. The combined examine can increase the diagnostic accuracy of TMC.

ABSTRACT

With the growing number of clinical surgery, post-operative surgical wound infection has become a very difficult clinical problem. In the treatments of it, non-invasive test of wound infection and healing status has a significance in clinical medicine practice. In this paper, beginning with the electrical properties of skin tissue structure and on the basis of the electromagnetism and the human anatomy, using the finite element analysis software, we applied safe voltage on the 3D skin model, performed the subcutaneous pustule simulation study and gained the relational curve between depth and radius of the pustule model. The simulation results suggested that the method we put forward could be feasible, and it could provide basis for non-invasive detection of wound healing and wound infection status.

ABSTRACT

Pulse wave velocity (PWV) is a vital index of the cardiovascular pathology, so that the accurate measurement of PWV can be of benefit for prevention and treatment of cardiovascular diseases. The noise in the measure system of pulse wave signal, rounding error and selection of the recording site all cause errors in the measure result. In this paper, with wavelet transformation to eliminate the noise and to raise the precision, and with the choice of the point whose slope was maximum as the recording site of the reconstructing pulse wave, the measuring system accuracy was improved.

ABSTRACT

ObjectiveTo investigate the expression and effects of nitric oxide synthase in the Abeta transgenic drosophila.MethodsmRNA was obtained from 20 Abeta transgenic drosophila and 20 wild type drosophila, and cDNA was synthesized by reverse transcription. The expression of nitric oxide synthase mRNA was detected by RT-PCR.ResultsThe expression of nitric oxide synthase mRNA (0.020 ± 0.006)in the Abeta transgenic drosophila was significantly lower than that in the wild type drosophila ( 1.000 ±0.149),there had significant difference between Abeta transgenic drosophila and wild type drosophila ( P < 0.05)..ConclusionsNitric oxide generated by nitric oxide synthase was an important messenger molecule, and it was closely related to Alzheimer's disease.

ABSTRACT

The key of Ankle-brachial index (ABI) measurement is the synchronous measurement of four limbs' systolic blood pressures. In this paper is analyzed the inadequacy of the modern blood pressure measurement technologies used in the ABI measurement process. Special emphasis is laid on the principles and characteristics of the double-layer cuffs technology. The research orientation, the existing problems, and the way toward improvement are discussed.
