ABSTRACT

Objective To study the effect of cold and heat treatment on metastasis and the peripheral blood immune response in patients with breast cancer. Methods A total of 124 breast cancer patients were randomly di-vided into a hot and cold therapy group and a control group, each of 62. Both groups were given conventional surgical resections, and the hot and cold therapy group was given cooling and heating physical therapy for one month before the operation. The efficacy of the treatment and the patients′ spiritual state were compared after the treatment. The effect on lung metastases was evaluated using tomographic images of the chest, and the changes in immune cell levels in the peripheral blood were detected using flow cytometry. Results After the treatment, the remission rate (54.8%), spiritual life ratings on the Karnofsky scale and the area of lung cancer nodule transfer were significantly better in the hot and cold therapy group than in the control group. Twelve weeks after the treatment, the percentage of MDSCs in the control group patients was 72.5%, significantly higher than the 5.3% of the therapy group. The CD4+and CD8+ T cells were 2.2% and 1.8%, significantly lower than the 26.7% and 13.9% of the control group. Con-clusion Cold and hot therapy before a mastectomy can effectively inhibit the metastasis of breast cancer and promote patients′physical rehabilitation and spiritual life. It may regulate the microenvironment of their immunosuppression and stimulate antitumor immunity.

ABSTRACT

Objective To explore the application of medical bottle opener box (authorized patent for utility model) in nurses dispensing operations of opening the plastic bottle cap. Methods Put five self-made medical bottle opener box sample into the hospital emergency department for use. The nurses were divided into control group and experimental group according to the different way of open bottle caps; both groups were 33 nurses who did not turn out of emergency department 2 years nurses for a common object of study. The control group was the 33 nurses adopting the method of unarmed open medicine plastic bottle cap from April 2013 to March 2014. The experimental group was the 33 nurses with medical bottle opener box to open medicine plastic bottle caps from March 2014 to March 2015. The method of comparing two groups was to compare the nurse hands skin wear parts and wear symptoms for opening bottle caps, and make the nurses′satisfaction survey. Results For two groups, the nurse hands skin wear parts were in right hand, index finger and thumb;the number of nurses with finger thick skin in experimental group was lower than that in control group [21.2%(7/33) vs. 78.8%(26/33)], and there was significant difference,χ2=21.87, P<0.05.The number of pain [12.1%(4/33) vs. 54.5%(18/33)] and peeling [15.2%(5/33) vs.69.7%(23/33)] in experimental group were lower than those in control group, and there were significant differences, χ2=13.36, 20.09, P < 0.05. The experimental group eliminated the blisters and scratches, avoided hand bleeding trauma. The nurses′overall satisfaction in experimental group was 93.9% (31/33), and 63.6% (21/33) in control group, and there was significant difference, χ2=9.06, P<0.05. Conclusions Nurses using medical bottle opener box when opening the medicine bottle cap can relieve and reduce occupational injury on the finger skin of nurses, improve the nurse hand skin comfort, provide convenient operation safety, it is worth promoting.

ABSTRACT

Objective To evaluate the effects of modified method of fixation and withdrawal of needles in intravenous infusion. Methods The modified method of two-step fixation and withdrawal of needles was adopted in emergency transfusion room of our hospital from September 2013.In January 2015,during every day's low peak period 12:00-14:00,246 emergency transfusion patients were chosen and divided into the traditional group (122 cases, using three-step fixation and withdrawal of needles) and the modified group (124 cases, using two-step fixation and withdrawal of needles) according to transfusion order. The pain degree caused by withdrawal of needles using Numeric Rating Scale (NRS),time consumption of fixation and withdrawal of needles and rate of adhesive pastes abscission was assessed by nurses and compared between two groups. Results The incidence of pain in the modified group was lower than that of the traditional group [48.39% (60/124) vs.81.97% (100/122)],x2=30.49,P<0.05.The time consumption of fixation and withdrawal of needles in the modified group was shorter than that of the control group [(7.55 ±2.01) seconds vs.(10.88 ±2.72) seconds;(2.44 ±0.84) seconds vs.(11.55 ± 4.62) seconds],Z=8.70,13.55,P<0.05.Therate of adhesive pastes abscission in the modified group was lower than that of the control group [4.0%(5/124) vs.18.9% (23/122)],x2 =13.39,P<0.05.All the difference between two groups was statistically significant. Conclusions The modified method of fixation and withdrawal of needles can relieve the pain caused by withdrawal of needles.Nurses can operate easily, adhesive pastes is fixed sturdily, which is popular among nurses and patients.

ABSTRACT

Malignant pleural effusion is a common complication of advanced cancer. The present study employed chest circulating hot infusion chemotherapy for 55 cases of malignant pleural effusion. The outcomes were complete remission (n =23,41.8%),partial remission (n =25,45.5%),stable disease (n=4,7.3 %) and progressive disease (n =3,5.5%).And the effective rate was 87.3%.After treatment, the levels of interleukin-10 (IL-10) and interleukin-6 (IL-6) were significantly lower than those before treatment (P < 0.05).And the levels of interleukin-2 (IL-2) and interferon-gamma (IFN-γ) were significantly higher than those before treatment (P < 0.05).Pleural circulation perfusion chemotherapy is both safe and effective in the treatment of malignant pleural effusion. And it helps to enhance immune functions and improve the quality-of-life of patients.

ABSTRACT

To study the effects of electromagnetic radiation from handsets of cellular telephone on quality of user's sleeping and depression 88 staff with handsets of cellular telephone and 77 staff without handsets of cellular telephone from corporations were selected as the subjects The subjects were investigated by questionnaires on their general health, lifestyle habit, psychological stresses, handset using of cellular telephone, living and working environmental exposure, morbidity and quality of sleeping and depression The data was analyzed by chi square, stepwise regression,Logistic regression, and covariance statistics The prevalence rate of insomnia was higher in user's group significantly ( P
