ABSTRACT

We describe a very unusual case of a 31 year old man with a simultaneous rupture of the patellar tendon and the anterior cruciate ligament. This infrequent association is easy misdiagnosed in the initial clinical assessment. Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) can evaluate both patologies and provides the orthopaedic surgeon the appropriate information for planning the timing and surgical treatment.
