ABSTRACT

Objective@#The present study aimed to determine the prevalence of childhood abuse and examined its correlation with inflammatory factor IL-6 level in middle schools students.@*Methods@#A total of 911 junior and high school students from a middle school in Shenyang were enrolled in this study to investigate the experience of childhood abuse and its association with IL-6 level in fasting blood samples in December 2017.@*Results@#The prevalence of childhood maltreatment was 21.0%, the prevalence of physical, emotional and sexual abuse was 21.8%, 20.3% and 9.5%, respectively. Physical abuse, emotional abuse and total abuse were associated with high levels of IL-6 in junior high school boys, χ2 values were 3.88, 6.78, and 9.10, respectively (P<0.05). There was no significant correlation between abuse experiences with IL-6 levels among junior high school girls and senior high school students. Regression analysis showed that physical abuse, emotional abuse and total abuse were positively associated with IL-6 concentration among junior high school boys(OR=2.23, 3.49, 1.58, P<0.05).@*Conclusion@#Physical and emotional abuse in childhood associates with the increase of IL-6 level among junior school boys. Abnormal inflammatory factor level might be potential mechanism linking childhood abuse with adverse health outcomes.

ABSTRACT

Objective To investigate the expression of miRNA-16 in peripheral blood monouclear cells (PBMC)from systemic lupus erythematosus( SLE)patients. Methods Sixteen SLE patients who meet the diagnostic criteria of SLE revised in 1997 American rheumatology and 12 healthy individuals were selected as our subjects. Their peripheral blood were sampled. Total RNAs were extracted and purified. The level of miRNA-16 was determined by quantitative reverse transcription PCR( qRT-PCR). U6 was used as housekeeping control. The amount of target miRNA was normalized relative to the amount of U6(ΔCt =ΔCt miRNA-ΔCtU6 ). Relative expression levels were expressed as 2-ΔCt . Results The expression level of miRNA-16 in the SLE patients was 919. 87 ± 715. 45,significantly higher than that in the healthy control group(413. 6 3 ± 330. 69;t= -2. 497,P﹤0. 05). And miRNA-16 expression in SLE active group was 1 298. 79 ± 803. 79,significantly higher than that in SLE stable group(540. 95 ± 350. 15;t= -2. 445,P﹤0. 05). The level of miRNA-16 was related with AnuA (r=0. 669,P=0. 005),ESR(r=0. 608,P=0. 012)and SLEDAI(r=0. 530,P=0. 035). Conclusion The expression of miRNA-16 is high in SLE patients and it is related with SLE activity.

ABSTRACT

Objective To discuss the correlation between the level of serum cystatin C and lipids in patients with system lupus erythematosus. Methods Used automatic biochemical analyzer to detect serum cystatin C (CysC),triglyceride (TG),total cholesterol (TC),high density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C),low density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C)and hsCRP levels in 136 cases of SLE patients and 113 cases of healthy people.Data obtained using SPSS13.0 software to carry on sta-tistical analysis. Results Outcome of SLE patients group compared with healthy controls,hsCRP (13.5 ± 4.85 mg/L vs 2.03±0.88 mg/L),CysC (2.63±1.95 mg/L vs 0.85±0.37 mg/L),LDL-C (3.06±1.21 mmol/L vs 2.33±0.41 mmol/L),TC (5.32±2.63 mmol/L vs 4.02±1.67 mmol/L)and TG (1.92±0.83 mmol/L vs 1.44±0.8 mmol/L)were signifi-cantly higher the difference between groups was statistically significant(t=2.45~12.4,P <0.05).Compared with healthy controls,HDL-C (1.12±0.31 mmol/L vs 1.52±0.85 mmol/L)was decreased (P <0.01).In SLE patients group, the ser-um CysC level and hsCRP,TC,TG and LDL-C were positively correlated, and the level of HDL-C was negative to the level of CysC.The health control group was no significant correlation. Conclusion Serum lipid levels of SLE patients were posi-tive to the level of CysC.Suggest that joint detection of SLE patients serum CysC and blood lipids index is helpful to the di-agnosis of SLE treatment and condition monitoring.
