involvement of sphenoid sinus in pituitary neoplasm: a study of seventy cases

To find out the involvement of sphenoid sinus in pituitary neoplasms. Design: Study of seventy cases of pituitary neoplasms who under went Trans Sphenoid removal. Setting: Jinnah Post Graduate Medical Centre and Liaquat National Hospital, Karachi. Subjects: Seventy cases of pituitary neoplasms admitted at JPMC and Liaquat National Hospital for Trans sphenoidal removal. Main outcome measures: Pre-operative CT scans and MRI scan finding were compared with operative findings. Pre-operative CT scan and MRI findings were consistent with operative findings. Sphenoid sinus was found to be involved in 74% cases. Conclusions: A Rhinologist must be aware of the situation while exploring the Sphenoid Sinus during such procedure
