ABSTRACT

Evaluation Ecballium elaterium fruits juice activity on hepatic cell level using experimental animals in two towards :hepatotoxicity treatment and prevention induced by Carbon tetrachloride [CCL4]. This effect was studied on Wistar rats in groups: [Normal group, group given single dose of CCL4[1ml/kg], treated group given dose of Ecballium elaterium fruit juice [0.5ml] for three days consecutive after the injury inducing, prevention group given dose of Ecballium elaterium fruit juice [0.1ml]for three days consecutive before the injury inducing, group given dose of juice equal to prevention dose[0.1ml/kg] for three days consecutive whithout inducing injury, treated group given dose ofreference drug [1.35 mg/kg]for three days consecutive after the injury inducing, The prevention group given dose of reference drug [1.35 mg/kg]for three days consecutive before the injury inducing. Results showed clear increase in serum values of serum glutamic pyruvic transaminase [SGPT] and serum glutamic oxaloacetic transaminase[SGOT], with high degrees of hepaticsteatosis, necrosis and inflammation in illness group comparative with normal one, also showed clear decrease in values SGPT and SGOT for treatment and prevention plant juice groups comparative with illness one and which make sure by results of histology study in decrease degrees of steatosis, necrosis and inflammation of the liver. The study comfier activity of plant juice in the treatment and prevention from hepatotoxicity induced by CCL4

ABSTRACT

Recent studies has proved an important influence for organic and inorganic fertilizers in medicinal plants growth and their effective compounds. All of that leads us to think more and more before using this nutrient resources, and to identify the best kind of fertilizers and the best application rates which produces best production [qualitative and quantitative]. The Main goal of this study is to evaluate the effect of some organic and inorganic fertilizers on some production parameters in spearmint plant [Mentha Viridis L.]. Where Different levels of [Cattle, Horse and Poultry] manures and Chemical fertilizers [NPK] were applied on Spearmint rhizomes which were grown in pots. During the study the following parameters were determined: Plant height, leaf area, leaf-to-stem fresh ratio and [fresh and dry] plant weight, oil percentage [% oil on fresh herb base] [, oil yield [ml/plant] and main components of oil. Results showed that significant increase in Plant height, leaf area and [fresh and dry] plant weight was happened in using Organic and NPK fertilizers comparing with control, in which superior effect was showed by Cattle manures [all treatment] and NPK [medium rate treatment]. Any clear effects were not showed in leaf-to-stem fresh ratio, except some. Organic and NPK fertilizers had clear and significant effect in increasing the oil percentage and oil yield in the most of treatments, and results showed also that chemical fertilizers significantly increased limonene percentage, and carvone percentage was increased in organic fertilizers

ABSTRACT

The aim of this study was the investigation of antibacterial activity of the extracts which are prepared from parts of Elaeagnus angustifolia L., which is growing in Syria. This study has showed the presence of antibacterial [Staphylococcus aureus, Streptococcus aurogenousa] activity of some extracts prepared from parts of plant Elaeagnus angustifolia L. but it was noticed that there are no activity against the fungi Candida albicans
