ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVE: To explore the effect of workplace social capital on health productivity of enterprise employees. METHODS: A total of 3 240 employees from different industries in Pudong New District, Shanghai City were selected as the research subjects using the stratified random sampling method. Workplace Social Capital Scale and Work Productivity and Activity Impairment Questionnaire: General Health were used to investigate the current status of workplace social capital and health productivity. RESULTS: The average workplace social capital score of employees was 3.9±0.6, and the detection rate of those with low workplace social capital was 37.3%(1 207/3 240). The detection rate of health productivity loss was 40.2%(1 303/3 240). The results of multiple linear regression analysis showed that the risk of health productivity loss increased in those employees with low workplace social capital(P<0.01) after excluding the influence of confounding factors such as gender, age, length of service, marital status, education level, job requirements, personal monthly income, type of enterprise, excessive drinking and irregular exercise. The odds ratio and 95% confidence interval was 1.427(1.225-1.662). CONCLUSION: Low social capital of employees in workplace can lead to impaired health productivity. Workplace health management can be carried out from the perspective of improving social capital of employees to improve their health productivity.

ABSTRACT

Pepino mosaic virus (PepMV) causes severe disease in tomato and other Solanaceous crops around globe. To effectively study and manage this viral disease, researchers need new, sensitive, and high-throughput approaches for viral detection. In this study, we purified PepMV particles from the infected Nicotiana benthamiana plants and used virions to immunize BALB/c mice to prepare hybridomas secreting anti-PepMV monoclonal antibodies (mAbs). A panel of highly specific and sensitive murine mAbs (15B2, 8H6, 23D11, 20D9, 3A6, and 8E3) could be produced through cell fusion, antibody selection, and cell cloning. Using the mAbs as the detection antibodies, we established double antibody sandwich enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (DAS-ELISA), Dot-ELISA, and Tissue print-ELISA for detecting PepMV infection in tomato plants. Resulting data on sensitivity analysis assays showed that both DAS-ELISA and Dot-ELISA can efficiently monitor the virus in PepMV-infected tissue crude extracts when diluted at 1:1 310 720 and 1:20 480 (weight/volume ratio (w/v), g/mL), respectively. Among the three methods developed, the Tissue print-ELISA was found to be the most practical detection technique. Survey results from field samples by the established serological approaches were verified by reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) and DNA sequencing, demonstrating all three serological methods are reliable and effective for monitoring PepMV. Anti-PepMV mAbs and the newly developed DAS-ELISA, Dot-ELISA, and Tissue print-ELISA can benefit PepMV detection and field epidemiological study, and management of this viral disease, which is already widespread in tomato plants in Yunnan Province of China.

ABSTRACT

Objective To explore the prospective monitoring and control methods for missing reporting of health-care-associated infection(HAI)cases, analyze its implementation efficacy, provide basis for formulating targeted strategy for monitoring missing report of HAI.Methods From January 2016 to June 2017,the quality control circle (QCC)method was used to prospectively monitor HAI cases in hospitalized patients, missing reporting of HAI was controlled. Results "Information system intelligence screening+mobile messaging alerts+ HAI supervision"trinity monitoring model for avoid missing reporting of HAI cases was established, after the first round of PDCA(plan, do,check, action)cycle, missing reporting rate of HAI decreased from 79.16% before QCC to 59.75% after QCC, difference was statistically significant (χ2=208.821,P=0.000).Compared with missing reporting rate of HAI af-ter the first round of PDCA,missing reporting rate of HAI after the second round of PDCA dropped to 26.18%, difference was statistically significant (χ2=200.075,P=0.002).Conclusion Active prospective prevention and control before missing reporting of HAI can effectively avoid missing reporting of HAI cases.

ABSTRACT

Objective To explore the functional activity of rs6858698 and its effect on susceptibility to chronic lymphocytic leukemia. Methods Luciferase reporter assay was used to detect the regulatory activity of rs6858698-Containing fragment.CRISPR/Cas9 system was employed to construct stable cell line with point mutation at rs6858698 locus.RNA-seq was used to identify differentially expressed genes between wildtype cells and mutant cells.Real-time quantitative PCR(RT-qPCR)and CRISPR interference(CRISPRi)assays were used to validate the results of RNA-seq.Results The rs6858698 -Containing region with allele C showed significantly higher enhancer activity than the region containing allele G.A total of 140 differentially expressed genes were identified in HEK293T cells after changing the allele from G to C,These genes are mainly enriched in nine bio-logical processes, including epigenetic modification. Conclusions rs6858698 has regulatory activity, which can affect the individual susceptibility to chronic lymphocytic leukemia by influencing the expression of genes related to the epigenetic modification.

ABSTRACT

<p><b>OBJECTIVE</b>To observe the change of erythrocyte theology in rabbits with acute renal failure (ARF).</p><p><b>METHODS</b>Thirty-eight healthy rabbits were randomly divided into control group (n = 8), model group (establishing ARF model via intramuscular injection 1% HgCl2, and divided into 12 h, 24 h, 48 h subgroups, all n = 10), the arterial blood sample was taken out through carotid artery at corresponding times after anesthetization with urethane, for detecting the indices of renal function and erythrocyte rheology.</p><p><b>RESULTS</b>The levels of urea and creatinine in plasma of model rabbits at 12 h, 24 h and 48 h were higher than those of control group, and there was a rise trend along with the time extension. The erythrocytes electrophoresis time at 12 h of model group was higher, the electrophoresis rate and migration rate of erythrocytes were lower compared with those of control group; the erythrocytes electrophoresis time at 24 h of model group was lower and the electrophoresis rate and migration rate were higher compared with those of model group at 12 h; and there were no statistical differences in erythrocytes electrophoresis indices between model group at 48 h and other groups. Meanwhile, there was a rise trend in erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR), K value of equation and emendation along with the time extension of ARF, but these indices only at 48 h of model group was lower significantly than that of control group. There were no statistical differences in aggregation index and deformability index of erythrocytes among groups.</p><p><b>CONCLUSION</b>During the process of ARF, the erythrocytes electrophoresis time lengthen and electrophoresis rate and migration rate decrease at early stage, and these indices gradually return to normal; the indices of ESR increase gradually.</p>
