ABSTRACT

Objective To study the distribution and drug resistance of clinical Providencia stuartii isolates and provide the basis data for clinical therapy. Methods A data analysis for the specimen source, the distribution of departments with infection and the antibiotic susceptibility results to 76 isolates was conducted in retrospectively. Results Among 76 strains were mainly from sputum (71.1%),wound secretions (10.5%) and blood (6.6%);the proportion of these strains from ICU was 40.8%,from respiratory department was 9.2%and from general surgery was 7.9%;The bacteria's drug resistance was more serious, multi drug resistant (MDR) strains accounted for 65.8%,pan drug resistant ( PDR) strains accounted for 26.3%,the mortality of patients with PDR strains infection was 45.0%,which was higher than 5.8%of no PDR strains infection.A low resistance rate of antibiotics were imipenem,fluoro-quinolones andamikacin,et al,and the rate of imipenem resistant was lowest(31.5%).Conclusion The multidrug resistance phenomenon of Providencia stuartii is serious, the first choice for the treatment is imipenem, the second choice was fluoroquinolones or amino glycopeptides antibiotics, the hospital infection caused by the bacterium infection in monitoring should be strengthened.

ABSTRACT

ObjectiveTo compare the therapeutic effect, adverse effects and safety of leflunomide (LEF)and cyclophosphamide(CTX) on lupus nephritis(LN). Methods43 patients with reactive LN were randomly divided into two groups. Based on hormone application,22 cases in LEF group were given LEF orally and 21 cases in CTX group were given CTX intravenous drip discontinuously. They were followed up for six months. The related indexes and possible concomitant adverse effects were detected. ResultsThe total effective rate in LEF group was 81.8% and that in CTX group was 85.7%. The tolerance in LEF group was better and 3 cases had adverse effects. 13 cases in CTX group had adverse effects. ConclusionLEF had the same efficacy as CTX in the LN therapy, but the tolerance is better and the side effects are minor than CTX.

ABSTRACT

Objective To observe the changes of bone mineral density (BMD) of boys and girls from 12 to14 years old in the urban areas and the suburbs of Beijing. Methods 613 middle school students were divided into the city group and the suburbs group, and whole body scanning was performed with dual energy X-ray bone densitometer. Results The values of BMD of the boys and girls in the urban areas were significantly higher than that in the suburbs (P

ABSTRACT

Objective To observe the changes of bone mineral density (BMD) in young boys and girls from 6-19 years old in Beijing area. Methods 1 139 healthy young boys and girls undergoing whole body scanning with dual energy X-ray bone densitometer were divided into different groups according to sex and age. Results There were no significant difference in body height, weight, BMD and bone mineral contents (BMC) between boys and girls from 6 to 10 years old. The annual growth rates of body height, BMD, and BMC were the fastest in girls from 6 to 14 and boys from 6 to 16 years old, respectively. Thereafter, the annual growth rates of body height, BMD, and BMC didn't significantly increase in boys and girls. There were two fast-growth periods in BMD growth stage, being at 11 and 14 years old in girls, and at 12 and 15 years old in boys. The total body BMD was significantly correlated with the height in girls under 12 years (P
