ABSTRACT

To investigate the role of spinal interleukin-6-Janus kinase 2 (IL-6-JAK2) signaling transduction pathway in regulating astrocytes activation during the maintenance of bone cancer pain (BCP).
Methods: NCTC 2472 fibrosarcoma cells were injected into the femur marrow cavity in C3H/HeNCrlVr male mice to establish BCP model and they were replaced by the equal volume of α-MEM in the sham model. The paw withdrawal latency (PWL) was measured after inoculation of tumor cells. The lumbar enlargement of spinal cord (L3-L5) was isolated, and Real-time RT-PCR and Western blot were used to detect the expression of spinal glial fibrillary acidic protein (GFAP) and JAK2 mRNA and protein, respectively. The expression level of spinal GFAP mRNA indirectly reflect astrocytes activation level. Pain behaviors and spinal cord GFAP mRNA and protein expression were observed at the given time points after intrathecal administration of JAK2 antagonist AG-490.
Results: The PWL at 10, 14, 21 d after operation in BCP model group were significantly shorter than that in the sham group (P<0.05); the spinal GFAP and JAK2 mRNA and protein levels were higher in the BCP model group in comparison to mice in the sham group (P<0.05); intrathecal injection of JAK2 agonist AG-490 (30 or 90 nmol) significantly alleviated PWL, and downregulated the expression of spinal GFAP mRNA and protein (P<0.05).
Conclusion: The IL-6-JAK2 signaling pathway plays an important role in maintaining the BCP by regulating the expression of GFAP in the spinal cord. Intrathecal injection of AG-490 can reduce the BCP, and inhibit the activation of IL-6-JAK2 signaling pathway, which may be one of the mechanisms for spinal astrocyte activation.

ABSTRACT

Objective To investigate the value of spectral CT with iodine parameters in distinguishing moderately-differentiated adnocarcinoma from poorly-differentiated adenocarcinoma. Methods 61 patients with gastric adenocarcinoma underwent preoperative CT scanning that included arterial phase(AP) and venous phase(VP) with gemstone spectral imaging(GSI) mode. All measurements were performed on the GSI viewer. The iodine concentration (IC) and the water concentration (WC) of the primary lesion were measured. Then the normalized iodine concentration (NIC) and contrast enhancement ratio (CER) were calculated. The CT values were measured at 70 keV Mono image. All the values of CER, NIC, IC and WC in the primary lesion were recorded and assessed by independent-samples t test.Receiver operating characteristic (ROC) was used to determine the threshold of IC and NIC for differentiating poorly-differentiated adenocarcinoma and moderately-differentiated adnocarcinoma. Results The IC values between moderate differentiation group and poor differentiation group were 8.73±4.05 vs 11.07±4.80(100 μg/cm3) in AP and 16.89±4.89 vs 21.18±5.96(100 μg/cm3) in VP.The values of NIC between moderately differentiated group and poorly differentiated group were 0.10±0.06 vs 0.13±0.06 in AP and 0.38±0.10 vs 0.49±0.12 in VP respectively.Significant difference of NIC (tVP=3.38, PVP0.05) in double phases revealed no significant difference between the two groups. Conclusion Iodine quantitative parameters of spectral CT can be potentially used to preoperatively evaluate the differentiation degree of gastric adenocarcinoma. Thus, the iodine parameters can reflect the differentiation degree of gastric adenocarcinoma.

ABSTRACT

@#Objective To explore the effect of individual nursing care on persistent headache in patients with intracranial aneurysm who accepted interventional embolization. Methods 100 patients with intracranial aneurysms were divided into observation group (n=50) and control group (n=50). The routine headache nursing care was taken in the control group and the individual nursing care was applied in the observation group. They were assessed with Visual Analogue Scale (VAS). Results The score of VAS reduced more in the observation group than in the control group (P<0.05), and the headache endurance and the satisfaction for nursing care were significantly better in the observation group than in the control group (P<0.05). Conclusion The individual nursing may relieve the pain, and improve the endurance of headache and the satisfaction for nursing care.

ABSTRACT

Objective To explore clinical nursing pathway(CNP) teaching method for nursing practice students. Methods Nursing practice students ( n =120 ) were randomly divided into two groups:experimental group and control group.CNP teaching method was applied in experimental group while traditional teaching method was used in control group. The test results of theory, operational skill, comprehensive quality, patient's satisfaction degree and nursing mistake between the two groups were compared. Results The results of theory, operational skill, comprehensive quality, patient's satisfaction degree in experimental group were obviously better than those in control group(P <0.05),the result of nursing mistake in experimental group was greatly decreased compared with that in control group(P < 0.05).Conclusion CNP teaching method is superior to traditional teaching method and it greatly improve the teaching quality.

ABSTRACT

@#Objective To investigate the incidence of the cognitive disorder in cerebrovascular patients and to its risk factors. Methods Cerebrovascular patients were surveyed with Mini-Mental State Examination(MMSE)Chinese-version in county or above hospitals among 23 provinces(cities). Results 915 cerebrovascular patients were surveyed and 281 patients(30.71%)were of cognitive disorder. And the incidence of the patients with hypertension or/and diabetes mellitus was significantly higher than the others(P<0.01).Conclusion The incidence of cognitive disorder is high in cerebrovascular patients, and the hypertension and diabetes mellitus are both the risk factors.
