ABSTRACT

Objective@#To explore the effect of active vitamin D supplements on promoting postoperative lumbar functional rehabilitation in postmenopausal women.@*Methods@#From January 2015 to January 2017, selecting 120 postmenopausal women patients who underwent lumbar posterior surgery with age from 50 to 80 years, randomly divided into control group and observation group, control group and observation group suffer traditional nursing and treatment, meanwhile, observation group was supplied with active vitamin D, over a follow-up period of six months, using the Visual Analogue Scale(VAS)score, Japanese Orthopedic Association Scores(JOA)score, back stretch height to assess the effect of active vitamin D supplements.@*Results@#Back stretch height of patients in the observation group was (25.4 ± 2.6) cm, which was significantly better than (20.7 ± 2.1) cm of the control group after 6 months (t=-10.90, P<0.01); the observation group JOA score and VAS score were significantly better than the control group (JOA score: 25.8±2.0 vs. 24.6±1.8, t=-3.50, P<0.01; VAS score: 1.6±0.9 vs. 2.1±1.1, t=-3.10, P<0.01).@*Conclusion@#Active vitamin D supplements can improve the patient′s waist discomfort, enhance the muscle strength, improve the quality of life, and get better functional rehabilitation.

ABSTRACT

Objective To compare the effect of two different time for intravenous dexmedeto-midine alleviates shivering during parturients cesarean undercombined spinal-epidural anaesthesia. Methods One hundred and twenty parturients delivery under combined spinal-epidural anaesthesiawere equally randomized into three groups. The parturients were intravenously injected with dexmedetomidine 0.4 μg/kg (15 min)at 15 min before the beginning of anesthesia (group A)or the time immediately after delivery of fetus (group B)respectively. Moreover, group C was the control group.Parturientsin group C were given equal volume of normal saline.Mean arterial pressure (MAP),heart rate(HR),pulse oxygen saturation (SpO 2 )and ear temperature were recorded respec-tively.Apgar scores of the fetus at 1 min and 5 min,the incidence and grade of shivering response, Ramsay sedative grade and adverse responses such as nausea, vomiting and traction reaction were re-corded as well. Results By 30 min after operation,2 parturients (5%)in group A,8 parturients (20%)in group B and 19 parturients (47.5%)in group C experienced shivering.Traction reaction was observed in 2 parturients (5%)in group A,in 3 parturients (7.5%)in group B and in 10 parturi-ents (25%)in group C respectively.Compared with group C,the incidence rate and degree of shive-ring were significantly lower in groups of A and B (P <0.05),as well as the traction reaction (P <0.05).The incidence rate and degree of shivering in group A were significantly lower than that in group B (P <0.05),but the incidence rates of traction reaction were not statistically different between the two groups. Conclusion Dexmedetomidine administered before combined spina-epidural anesthesia could prevented shivering response in parturients undergoing cesarean section better than being injected immediately after the birth offetus.

ABSTRACT

ObjectiveTo summarize the nursing experience of postoperative liver biopsy in patients after liver transplantation. Methods89 patients undergoing postoperative liver biopsy after liver transplantation from June 2010 to April 2011 were retrospectively analyzed.Their nursing experience was summarized. Results81 patients were confirmed of having rejection reaction.89 patients had no severe complications, only 28 cases(31.5%)had mild local pain. ConclusionsSufficient preoperative preparation, good nursing cooperation during the operation, close postoperative observation and nursing can prevent and timely detect and cope complications, thereby reduce the risk of liver puncture.

ABSTRACT

BACKGROUND: Polypyrrole (PPy) has been widely applied in biomedical fields due to its special electronic property. Past 20 years, there are an increasing number of studies on the application of PPy as a potentially electrically addressable tissue/cell support substrate for tissue/cell regeneration.OBJECTIVE: To overall review the application of PPy in tissue engineering field, and to provide a new approach for the research and development of medical biomaterials.METHODS: Pubmed and Chinese biomedicine literature database were searched using key word of "polypyrrole" for documents published between 1990 and 2010. Literatures related to application of PPy in tissue engineering field were included, and the repetitive articles were excluded.RESULTS AND CONCLUSION: Totally 762 papers were searched by computer, according to the inclusive and exclusive criteria, 51 literature were reviewed. Currently, PPy has been widely used in the fields of cardiovascular tissue engineering, bone and muscle tissue engineering, as well as skin tissue engineering. Application of PPy and PPy-based biomaterials hold great potential in development of novel biomedical materials applied in tissue engineering due to their versatile functionality and superior biocompatibility.

ABSTRACT

Objective To evaluate the endoscopic precut sphincterotomy for malignant biliary obstruction. Methods Endoscopic precut sphincterotomy was performed in different ways for 46 patients with malignant biliary obstruction and difficult biliary cannulation according to the anatomic structure of the papilla and cannulation. Ways of precut were summarized and complications were analyzed. Results Precut sphincterotomy was performed with bow-like knife in 4 patients, with needle-knife in 24, with trans-pancreatic sphincterotomy in 12 and with combined ways in 6. The procedure succeeded in 35 cases (76. 1%, 35/46). Post-procedure complications included bleeding in 3 patients, pancreatitis in 1, hyper-amylasemia in 2and cholangitis in 1. No perforation was found. Conclusion Endoscopic precut sphincterotomy is not only able to improve the therapeutic endoscopy achievement rate in patients with malignant biliary obstruction, but also to lower the incidence of complications if used adequately.

ABSTRACT

Damage effects of water sorption on mechanical properties of the hydroxyapatite particle reinforced Bis-GMA/TEGDMA copolymer (HA/Bis-GMA/TEGDMA) have been predicted using 3-D finite cell models. Three different cell models were used to determine the influence of varying particle contents, interphase strength and moisture concentration on the debonding damage. The stress distribution pattern has been examined and the stress transfer mode has been clarified. The Young's modulus and fracture strength of the Bis-GMA/TEGDMA composite were also predicted using the model with and without consideration of the damage. The former results with consideration of the debonding damage are in good agreement with existing literature experimental data. The shielding effect of our proposed model and an alternative approach were discussed. The FCC cell model has also been extended to predict the critical load for the damaged and the undamaged composite subject to the 3-point flexural test.

ABSTRACT

Objective To improve the recognization of the cavitating lung cancer in CT scans. Methods From May 1996 to June 2000,37 patients out of total 271 primary lung cancers were confirmed by transthoracic needle aspiration biopsy, operation and pathlogical examination. Results There were 5 pattens cavitaties in the CT manifestations. They were 15 cases cavities with thick irregular walls,14 cases round or ovoid growths with central or eccentric cavitation,4 cases solid lobes containing cavities,2 cases thin-walled cavities resembling cysts and 2 cases fissural cavities. There were 24 cases squamous-cell carcinomas,5 cases adenocarcinomas,2 cases small-cell carcinomas,2 cases alveolar-cell carcinomas. Conclusion The cavitating lung cancer is made misdiagnosis easilier. There is important clinical value in diagnosis with transthoracic needle aspiration biopsy(TNAB).
