ABSTRACT

Objective To explore the correlations between the levels of serum 25 ( OH) D and age, blood sugar, blood lipid, blood pressure and insulin levels in patients with subcortical arteriosclerotic encephalopathy . Methods A total of 100 patientswith subcortical arteriosclerotic encephalopathy ( SAE) and 50 healthy persons were enrolled in the study.ELISA was adopted to determine serum 25(OH)D levels in two groups.Meantime, fasting glu-cose, blood lipid, blood pressure and insulin levels were measured and compared between two groups .Results The systolic blood pressure , diastolic blood pressure , fasting glucose , total cholesterol and insulin levels in SAE patients were significantly higher than those in the healthy control (p0.05).The serum 25(OH)D levelswere negatively related with age, SBP, DBP and fasting glucose(p<0.05,p<0.01) but not correlative with TC, TG, LDL, HDL, and insulin levels in SAE patients. Conclusion The serum 25(OH)D levels in SAE patients are reducedby playing a regulative role in the occurrence and development of SAE throughaffectingthe energy metabolism .

ABSTRACT

Objective To assess the depression and cognition function in patients with severe obstructive sleep apnea (OSAHS) , and to study the relationship between the depression and severity of OSAHS, cognition disorders. Methods A total of 74 OSAHS patients (OSAHS group) and 39 normal controls ( control group) which all diagnosed by polysomnography (PSG) were chosen, and they were assessed the state of depression by self-rating depression scale ( SDS) and for cognition disorders by mini-mental state examination ( MMSE ). Results The score of SDS in OSAHS group was significantly higher than that in the control group(P<0.01). In patients with OSAHS , the score of SDS was positively correlated with apnea hyponea index ( AHI) , which was negatively correlated with mean level of SaO_2 ( MSaO_2 ) and the lowest SaO_2 ( LSaO_2 ) (P<0.01 ). The score of MMSE in OSAHS group was significantly lower than that in the control group, which was negatively correlated with AHI(P<0.01) and positively correlated with MSaO_2 and the lowest LSaO_2(P<0.01 ). The score of SDS was negatively correlated with MMSE( r= -0.505, P<0.01). Conclusion OSAHS patients exit depression and cognition disorders, which was correlation to intermitten hypoxemia in frequently.

ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVE To review and analyze the distribution and antimicrobial resistance of nosocomial Escherichia coli and Klebsiella pneumoniae.METHODS Disk diffusion test(Kirby-Bauer)was used for anti-microbial susceptibility.Extended spectrum ?-lactamases(ESBLs)were detected by double disk synergy test and disk diffusion confirmatory test.AmpC enzyme was detected by the three dimensional assay.RESULTS The positive rate of the production of ESBLs and AmpC enzyme was 34.6% and 5.0%,respectively.The production rate of both ESBLs and AmpC enzyme positive was 2.4%.Isolated rate of ESBLs-producing strains in sputum and urine of the inpatients in respiratory ward and urinary ward was higher than others. All strains were 100% susceptible to meropenem and imipenem but resistant to 15 other antimicrobials in different degrees.CONCLUSIONS The isolated rate of ?-lactamases-producing strains is increasing year by year. These strains are multi-drug resistant.Attention must be paid to their detection and surveillance.
