ABSTRACT

Objective To study the changes of cardiac structure, heart function and pulmonary arterial pressure of the Han Chinese back to the plain after living long time on Tibetan Plateau. Methods Randomly choose 67 cases out of the Han people who have moved to the Tibetan Plateau many years , and been examined to make sure they have no disease caused by other factors. Examine their cardiac structure, heart function, pulmonary arterial pressure and valve flow velocity in Tibetan Plateau and about 60 days later back in plains respectively. Then make statistical analysis of high altitude cardiopulmonary adaptation and de-adaptation reaction according to the differences. Results Only were the values of pulmonary artery systolic pressure (PASP) and tricuspid regurgitation (TR) from the group back to plains lower than those from the group migrated to plateau (P = 0.045; P = 0.041). Other indicators of cardiac structure, heart function, pulmonary arterial pressure and valve flow velocity did not change significantly between the group back to plains and the group migrated to plateau (P > 0.05). Conclusions To Han people who returned to plains about 60 days later after long time staying on plateau , only the values of PASP and TR significantly reduce , which have not recovered to normal levels. This may be correlated with the ageing factor and long time migrating.

ABSTRACT

ObjectiveTo evaluate the value of MR imaging(MRI)in diagosing of obstetrical brachial plexus.MethodsBetween September 2006 to September 2011,eighteen cases (12 males and 6 females)of obstetrical brachial plexus injury had being used for investigation, aging from 2 month to 3 years, average of 10.6 month. Eight left side and 10 right side. Tassin Ⅰ was 4 cases,Tassin Ⅱ was 6 eases, Tassin Ⅲwas 5 eases, Tassin Ⅳ was 4 cases. All cases were performed to MRI test before operating and the result compare with finding during operating. ResultsFindings of MRI:pseudomeningocele was in 13 of the 18cases while 10 of the 15 patients had multiple pseudomeningoceles. Displacement of spinal cord was in 6 cases; Normal was 2 cases; thickening of nerve root was in 2 cases.ConclusionMR imaging is an effective tool for demonstrating lesions of the brachial plexus worthy of surgical exploration.

ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVE@#To summarize clinical features, diagnosis, differential diagnosis, treatment and prognosis of basal cell adenocarcinoma.@*METHOD@#A retrospective study were subjected to one case with basal cell adenocarcinoma of the nasal septum, and the related literature were reviewed.@*RESULT@#Basal cell adenocarcinoma often occurred in the salivary glands and minor salivary glands of salivary palate and other parts. The symptoms mainly presented with a local lump. Major treatment method was radical surgical resection and, if necessary, supplemented by radiotherapy.@*CONCLUSION@#Basal cell adenocarcinoma is rare seen in the salivary gland tumors. It has a tendency of low-grade malignancy but need long-term follow-up of a large samples.
