ABSTRACT

The survival rate of cancer patients was improved due to the development of cancer treatment techniques, and thus the fertility protection for young female cancer patients has attracted increasing attention. Radiotherapy, as one of the comprehensive cancer treatment, could cause ovarian damage in adolescent and child-bearing women, which leads to fertility decline and a series of side effects. Radiation can cause ovarian damage not only by acting on biological macromolecules directly, but also by increasing oxidative stress between oocytes and ovarian granulosa cells indirectly. At present, the fertility preservation of female cancer patients undergoing radiotherapy mainly includes physical protection, drug protection and biological protection. Recently, the development of new technologies for the preservation of fertility in female cancer patients has also brought new hope, including factors such as protective effects, patient age, and the selection of specific cancer treatment measures, which are the main considerations in the selection process of fertility preservation measures. This article reviews the research progress on radiation-induced ovarian damage, with a focus on the introduction of the fertility preservation measures and new technologies for young female tumor patients receiving radiotherapy.

ABSTRACT

Objective To investigate the effect of acidic serine protease ASPNJ on the expression of heat shock protein HSP90, 60 and 27 in human chronic myeloid leukemia K562 cells, in order to reveal the related mechanism of anti leukemic effects of ASPNJ. Methods K562 leukemia cell lines were cultured in vitro and treated with ASPNJ alone or in combination with chemotherapeutic agents. Western blot and RT-PCR were used to detect the changes of HSP90, 60 and 27 gene expressions in levels of total protein and membrane protein, as well as in mRNA levels. Results ASPNJ showed different effects on the expression of HSPs in total protein and membrane protein levels and had some modified effect on HSPs in total protein or membrane protein levels. Effects of ASPNJon expression of HSPs mRNA were not apparent, but HSPs mRNA were apparently lower in the ASPNJ and doxorubicin combination group than that in the ASPNJ alone or doxorubicin alone groups. Conclusion The mechanism of ASPNJ on the inhibitory effect of leukemia cells proliferation and the promoting effects on chemotherapeutic drugs may involve some complicated correlations with the effect of ASPNJ on the expression of HSPs and the modification of HSPs proteins.

ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVE@#To investigate the reliability of the Chinese version of Satisfaction with Amplification in Daily Life (SADL).@*METHOD@#The cross-cultural adaption measures were used to translate the SADL into Chinese version. Thirty hearing aid users no younger than 18 years old were included. Test-retest analysis was administrated to the patients without significant changes in health and social status with an interval of two weeks between test and retest.@*RESULT@#Test-retest reliability of the SADL was proved to be satisfactory. All subscales and global score had coefficients that exceeded 0.70 (P < 0.01). Except for "personal image", the score of other subscales and global score in this study are higher than the U. S. interim norms described by Cox and Alexander (1999) (P < 0.01).@*CONCLUSION@#This study completed the translation and test-retest analysis of Chinese version of SADL. We need further discussion about validation of Chinese version of SADL in order to meet basic psychometric criteria of a standard outcome measurement.

ABSTRACT

ObjectiveTo explore the possible mechanism of adult offspring rats'anxiety-like behavior induced by parents experienced morphine addiction and withdrawal.MethodsEstablishing the model of Sprague-Dawley rats morphine addiction,Male and female rats were mated after morphine withdrawal 21 days.Meaning-while,saline control group was established in the same method.5 female and 5 male offspring's brains were obtained to observe the neuronal morphology of hippocampal CA1 through Golgi staining when they were 8 weeks old,the same number of female and male's hippocampus were derived after deeply anesthetized to perform the whole genome expression profiles analysis.ResultsThe total length and the number of basal dendrites branches on hippocampal CA1 neurons in offspring of morphine groups were significantly decreased compared to the offspring of saline group.Comparison with the offspring of saline group,663 up-regulated genes (ratios ≥2.0) and 499 down-regulated genes ( ratios ≤0.5 ) were detected in the male offspring of morphine groups, and 350 up-regulated genes (ratios ≥2.0) and 188 down-regulated genes (ratios ≤0.5) were done in the female.Furthermore, they included many genes associated with regulation of emotional behavior, such as 5-HT2c receptor up-regulation 7-fold,Igf-2 up-regulation 7.1-fold and reelin down-regulation 3.3-fold were observed.ConclusionExperienced morphine addiction and withdrawal in parents prior to mating leads to dysplasia of dendritic morphology in hippocampal CA1 neurons of adult offspring rats, and 5-HT2c,Igf-2,reelin expressing abnormally, which may be the possible mechanism of anxiety-like behavior in adult offspring rats.

ABSTRACT

Objective: To study the expression of hepatocyte growth factor(HGF) in acute pulmonary embolism, and the diagnostic value of HGF thereof. Methods: The acute autoblood pulmonary thromboembolism was used to establish rat pulmonary embolism model. There were blood plasma HGF detection group, organization HGF mRNA detection group and control group respectively. The expressions of plasma HGF and organization HGF were observed during the different periods of acute pulmonary embolism. Results:The expression of HGF was much higher in blood plasma HGF detection group than that of control group at different time points(P < 0.01). The expression of HGF mRNA increased in organization HGF detection group compared with that of control group at 12 h after pulmonary embolism(P < 0.01). Conclusion: The expression of HGF increased in acute pulmonary embolism, which can be used as a diagnosis indicator in acute pulmonary embolism.

ABSTRACT

Atherosclerosis is a multifactorial disease and mediated by chronic inflammation from initiation to progression. Inflammatory factors of this process, such as C-reactive protein, interleukin-6, cell adhesion molecules and tumor necrosis factor-a, not only involve in atherosclerosis-related disease process, but also indicate the risk of cardiovascular events. Inflammatory factors level plays a significant role in diagnosis, treatment and prognosis of atherosclerosis-related disease, such as acute coronary syndrome. Recent studies have shown that there is a marked inflammatory response after stenting, which plays an important role in the vascular remodeling process, especially in-stent restenosis. Therefore, it is necessary to explore the molecular mechanism and pathological changes in the process of inflammation and to study prevention and treatment of the inflammation. We believe that inflammatory processes will be new targets of therapy in preventing or treating atherosclerosis and its complications.

ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVE: To observe the correlated serum inflammatory factor and cytokine changes in patients with coronary stent implantation, and to explore the significance of these changes.METHODS: Chinese Journal Full-Text Database was retrieved with search terms of coronary artery disease, percutaneous coronary interventions, inflammation, intimal hyperplasia, apoptosis and platelet-derived growth factor from 1995 to 2008. The language was restrained Chinese. A total of 17 literatures were collected, which concerns the changes of correlated inflammatory factor and cytokine levels and its significance. The literatures were sorted according to research object, experimental grouping, sample collection, assay method, experimental result, as well as experimental conclusion. Simultaneously, the patients received coronary stent implantation was analyzed to explore the significance of inflammatory factor and cytokine changes.RESULTS: The dynamic changed serum inflammatory factor and cytokine in patients with coronary stent implantation may be associated with the following mechanisms:①Endothelial cells were easily damaged in the balloon dilatation or stent implantation, therefore, inflammatory mediators or inflammatory factors were exposed to blood circulation, which stimulating neutrophilic granulocytes and up-regulating leukocyte adhesion molecule CD11b expression. ②Many stimulus could arise nuclear factor induced inflammatory reaction, produce interleukin 6, and stimulate C-reactive protein generation. ③The level of angiotensin Ⅱ increased at several days following stent implantation, and heightened with time prolonged, the proliferation of angiotensin Ⅱ was regulated by platelet-derived growth factor. By increasing the expression of endothelin, the synthesis of endothelin was accelerated, the proliferation and migration of vascular smooth muscle cells was promoted, which ultimately resulted in atherogenesis, balloon damage also involved in this process, which may be one of the mechanisms of restenosis.CONCLUSION: The changes of correlated inflammatory factor and cytokine can be served as inflammatory reaction indexes;moreover, soluble CD40 ligand, C-reactive protein and matrix metalloproteinase 9 may be associated with in-stent restenosis.
