ABSTRACT

Background: The traditional bowel preparation compound polyethylene glycol electrolyte powder (PEG) has poor tolerance in some patients due to the need for a large amount of water, which has a limited cleaning effect and affects the visual field of observation. Therefore, it is of clinical significance to find a bowel cleaning method with strong cleaning power, high safety and is acceptable to most of the patients. Aims: To explore the efficacy and safety of PEG combined with linaclotide in bowel preparation. Methods: A total of 414 patients were randomly divided into 3 groups: control group (3 L PEG group), observation group A (3 L PEG+290 μg linaclotide), observation group B (2 L PEG+290 μg linaclotide). The primary outcome was the efficacy of bowel preparation based on the Boston bowel preparation scale (BBPS), the secondary outcomes were withdrawal time, time interval from preparation to colonoscopy, incidence of complications, cecal insertion rate, detection rates of polyps, adenoma, hemorrhoid and other diseases. BBPS score in constipation subgroup was analyzed. Results: The appropriate bowel preparation rate, BBPS score, and detection rates of polyps and hemorrhoid in observation group A were significantly higher than those in control group and observation group B (P0.05). There were no significant differences in cecal insertion rate, incomplete colonoscopy rate, detection rates of adenoma and other diseases, withdrawal time, time interval from preparation to colonoscopy, and incidence of adverse reactions among the three groups (P>0.05). BBPS score in constipation patients in observation group A was significantly higher than that in observation group B and control group (P<0.05). Conclusions: Linaclotide is safe and effective as an adjuvant for bowel preparation. 3 L PEG combined with linaclotide can improve the quality of bowel cleaning.

ABSTRACT

Objective:To analyze the clinical characteristics that affect the early outcomes of the elderly patients with transient ischemic attack(TIA) and provide the guidance for the prediction of disease recurrence. Methods:From January 2016 to December 2019, 315 TIA patients over 60 years old based on the time-clinical definition who were admitted to the department of neurology in Beijing Shijitan Hospital were divided into recurrence cerebrovascular events group(RCVEs group) and non-recurrence cerebrovascular events group(non-RCVEs group) according to the recurrence at 1 month after onset. The clinical characteristics of the two groups were compared by Logsitic regression analysis. Results:There were 29 cases in the RCVEs group and 286 cases in the non-RCVEs group. Compared to the non-RCVEs group, patients in RCVEs group were more likely have higher prevalence of hypertension history(14/15, 83/203), moderate or severe intracranial artery stenosis(21/8, 132/154), carotid stenosis(22/7, 107/179), DWI positive, motor symptoms, carotid artery stenting and higher times of TIA episodes(2(2, 3), 2(1, 2)), fasting blood glucose and glycosylated hemoglobin levels(8.86(8.17, 9.56)mmol/L, 5.82(5.27, 6.33)mmol/L). Logistic regression analysis showed that patients in RCVEs group had a DWI positive( B=1.634, OR=5.124, 95% CI: 2.898-9.059, P=0.000) and higher prevalence of moderate to severe stenosis of carotid artery( B=0.572, OR=1.773, 95% CI: 1.050-2.993, P=0.032). Conclusion:DWI positive and moderate to severe carotid stenosis may influence the early poor prognosis in patients with TIA.

ABSTRACT

Objective HGF and its receptor ( c-met) are principal mediators of mesenchymal-epithelial interac-tion in several different systems. Moreover, hair follicle is a model of mesenchymal-epithelial interaction. The aim of this study was to explore whether HGF/c-met signal plays a role in the control of hair follicle growth cycle. Methods To ex-amine the localization of HGF/c-met in anagen, catagen and telogen in the hair follicle of ICR mice. Results HGF was mainly located in the dermal papilla and sebaceous gland, and c-Met in the hair matrix, root sheath and epidermis. Both HGF and c-met expressions peaked during anagen, not found in catagen, and increased during telogen-anagen phase.Con-clusions Our results demonstrate a regulatory role of HGF and c-met in the control of hair follicle growth in ICR mice.
