ABSTRACT

Objective:To investigate the correlation between platelet distribution width(PDW)and cerebral microbleeds(CMB)in the middle-aged and elderly population. Methods:A total of 2 839 subjects who underwent cranial magnetic resonance imaging(MRI)examination at Lishui Hospital of Zhejiang University from May 2016 to December were enrolled in this cross-sectional study.According to MRI results, subjects were divided into the CMB group(n=525)and the non-CMB group(n=2 314). Clinical data and PDW levels were compared between the two groups.CMB-related factors were analyzed by using a logistic regression equation.A receiver operating characteristics(ROC)curve was drawn to analyze the value of PDW levels in predicting the incidence of CMB.Results:The percentage of males, the proportion of smokers, the number of subjects with diabetes and serum creatinine levels were higher in the CMB group than in the non-CMB group[(55.05%(289/525) vs.45.12%(1 044/2 314), 42.67%(224/525) vs.34.67%(802/2 314), 12.76%(67/525) vs.9.51%(220/2 314), (68.91±21.38)μmol/L vs.(66.45±15.40)μmol/L, all P<0.05]. PDW levels were higher in the CMB group than in the non-CMB group(15.52±2.49)% vs.(14.67±2.90)%, χ2=93.75, P<0.05). Multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that the PDW level was an independent risk factor for CMB in the middle-aged and elderly population( OR=1.13, P<0.05). The area under the ROC curve(AUC)of PDW in predicting the incidence of CMB was 0.582, and with 15.95% as the optimal threshold value, the sensitivity and specificity were 75.0% and 41.8%.Patients were divided into the high PDW sub-group(n=1 691)and the low PDW sub-group(n=1 083)based on the PDW cutoff at 15.95%.The number of CMB and the incidence of CMB were higher in the high PDW group than in the low PDW group(0.75 vs.0.48, 23.3% or 394/1 691 vs.12.1% or 131/1 083, χ2=30.37 and 51.28, P<0.05). Conclusions:PDW levels are high in middle-aged and elderly patients with CMB, and elevated PDW levels are an independent risk factor for CMB.

ABSTRACT

@#Objective To explore the effect of action observation therapy on unilateral spatial neglect after stroke. Methods From March, 2017 to April, 2018, 44 patients with left-sided neglect due to unilateral right-sided vascular brain lesions were randomly divided into control group (n=22) and experimental group (n=22). The control group received the dynamic landscape video observation training, and the experimental group received the action observation training, based on routine rehabilitation, for three weeks. Before treatment, one week and three weeks after treatment, they were evaluated with Chinese Behavioral Inattention Test-Hong Kong version (CBIT-HK) routine tests (short line cancellation test, letter cancellation test, star cancellation test and line segment bisect), and the scores of Mini-Mental State Examination (MMSE), Fugl-Meyer Assessment (FMA) and Activities of Daily Living (ADL) were compared. Results One week after treatment, four scores of CBIT routine tests almost improved (t>2.712, P<0.05), and the score of line segment bisect was significantly better in the experiment group than in the control group (t=4.822, P<0.001). Three weeks after treatment, four scores of CBIT routine tests and the scores of MMSE, FMA and ADL improved in both groups (t>1.596, P<0.05), and the scores of short line cancellation test, letter cancellation test and line segment bisect were significantly lower in the experiment group than in the control group (t>3.577, P<0.01).Conclusion The action observation therapy could faciliate to improve the lateral neglect of patients after stroke.

ABSTRACT

Objective To explore the effect of childhood abuse on suicidal ideation and the influencing factors among recruits. Methods Through stratified sampling,505 recruits in Nanjing were tested by childhood Trauma Questionnaire (CTQ),Simplified Coping Style Questionnaire (SCSQ),Social Support Rating Scale (SSRS),Self-rating Idea of Suicide Scale(SIOSS) and Beck Hopelessness Scale (BHS).Results 1.The scores of suicidal ideation and hopelessness in recruits who had childhood abuse were significantly higher than those in control group ((5.56±4.58) vs (2.11±2.79),(5.93±3.01)vs (3.10±2.27),P<0.01).2.The score of positive coping in recruits who had childhood abuse was significantly lower than that in control group(18.98±6.16 vs 23.27±7.45; P<0.05).The score of negative coping in recruits who had childhood abuse was significantly higher than that in control group(9.27±5.04 vs 23.27±7.45; P<0.01).3.The scores of social support in recruits who had childhood abuse were significantly lower than that in control group ((69.38± 10.43),(20.16±3.97),(25.73±3.68),(22.82±5.52) vs(75.55±9.67),(23.25±2.50),(27.56±3.51),(24.67±5.33) ; P<0.05).4.The score of total CTQ was positively correlated with suicidal ideation, hopelessness, negative coping(r=0.379,0.402,0.228; P<0.01),but negatively correlated with active coping style, social support(r=-0.285,-0.302; P<0.01).Conclusion The recruits who had childhood abuse are susceptible to suicidal ideation. The negative coping style and lacking of social support may be the main factors to the suicidal ideation.

ABSTRACT

In order to screen and get TCM literatures from non-TCM periodicals, knowledge on types of literature is the first thing one has to be familiar with.Secondarily, one should pay attention to get literatures from multiple subjects and different angles. At last, invisible key words and relative information should also be noted.
