ABSTRACT
Objective To evaluate the safety of endoscopic ligation of gastric and colic full-thickness wall with nylon loops.Methods Endoscopic ligation of full gastric and colic wall with detachable nylon loops, assisted by laparotomy, were performed in 4 dogs.Ligation healing was assessed on 3, 7, 10and 17 days after the procedure.Results All animals recovered after the procedure, without any clinical signs of infection or hemorrhage.Postoperative examination did not reveal gastric or colonic perforation, or local abscess.Loop ligature showed ulcer-like lesion.Histopathology revealed muscularis propria disruption, granulation tissue bridging the site of ligation and formation of scar tissue.Regenerative mucosa coyered the surface of the ligature completely 17 days after the operation.Conclusion Endoscopic ligation of gastric and colic full-thickness wall with detachable nylon loops is safe.Its application can be extended to other fields.
ABSTRACT
Objective To evaluate the effects and safety of uterine artery embolization for uterine leiomyoma. Methods Total of 185 patients with uterine leiomyoma were treated by UAE. They were followed for one to 6 years to observe the changes of leiomyoma size and improvement in clinical symptoms. Ovarian function was evaluated in 44 cases. Results Bilateral embolization of uterine arteries was performed in 185 patients. Follow-up of 1 ～6 years for 292 leiomyoma indicated that one to 9 months after embolization, shrinkage of leiomyoma size was the most significant factor. One year after embolization, leiomyoma sizes decreased a little. Shrinkage of submucous leiomyoma was more significant than that of intratumoral one, and the latter was more significant than subserous one. Shrinkage of leiomyoma with large size ( volume ≥ 150cm~3) was less than that of small one. Menorrhagia, anemia and pressure symptoms were all resolved. There was no significant difference between pre- and post embolization ovarian hormone level. Conclusions The significant reduction in leiomyoma volume and resolution of clinical symptoms confirmed that the treatment validity of symptomatic leiomyomas by UAE. UAE is an effective therapeutic procedure which has no adverse effect on the ovarian function.

OBJECTIVE To discuss the reasonable application of multi-enzyme abluent in the process of endoscopic cleaning and disinfecting.METHODS The multi-enzyme abluent was reasonably used to clean the endoscope in the pre-cleaning and disinfection process at thebedside,to enable it to achieve the best cleaning effect.RESULTS The reasonable application of multi-enzyme abluent could enhance the effect of endoscope cleaning to ensure the success of endoscopic disinfection.CONCLUSIONS Multi-enzyme abluent can protect the successful endoscopic disinfection and prevent the iatrogenic infection.

OBJECTIVE To approach the method for continuing improvement of quality control in cleaning and disinfection.METHODS Looked for the problems in the process of cleaning and disinfection of endoscope,and the reasons wereanalyzed.The specific measures for continuing improvement of quality control in cleaning and disinfection of endoscope were formulated and fulfilled.The examining norms of nursing quality were modified,and the surveillance management of the quality control and the cleaning and disinfection of endoscope were enhanced.RESULTS For continuing improvement of quality control in cleaning and disinfection of endoscope,the total quality of nursing service must be enhanced.CONCLUSIONS For one year practice,we found that continuing improvement of quality control in cleaning and disinfection fo endoscope could enhance total quality of nursing care,and ensure medical treatment safety while decreasing onset of hospital infection.
