ABSTRACT

The present study was aimed to explore the relationship of transforming growth factor (TGF) beta3 gene SfaNI polymorphism (rs3917201 locus) and non-syndromic cleft lip with or without cleft palate (NSCL/P) in people of the Uygur's Nationality and Han's in Xinjiang, China. TGFbeta3 gene fragment including SfaNI was amplified and purified as the template of the primer extension reaction thenafter. The single base extension reaction was carried out u sing SNP specific extension primer. The products were purified and analyzed by MALDI-TOF. The test showed that there were not significantly different frequencies of AA, AG, GG genotypes and alleles between the whole NSCL/P group and the whole control group (P > 0.05). Within the Uygurs or Hans, the frequencies of genotypes between the whole NSCL/P group and the whole control group were not significantly different (P > 0.05). The distributions of the A, G alleles between the NSCL/P group and the control group were not significantly different within the Uygurs (P > 0.05), but significant different within the Hans (P < 0.05). In all the NSCL/P patients, frequencies of genotypes and alleles were not significantly different between Uygurs and Hans (P > 0.05), and not significantly different (P > 0.05) either between Uygurs and Hans in all the healthy persons. The results proved that TGFbeta3 gene SfaNI polymorphism may not be related to NSCL/P in Xinjiang Uygur people, while the occurrence of NSCL/P in Han population may be related to frequency of the A and G allele of SfaNI polymorphism.

ABSTRACT

Objective To summarise the perioperative features of orthotopic liver transplantations(OLTs) in miniature porcine,to establish mature、stable OLT models. Methods In order to observe hemodynamics and blood changes and improved perioperative management and summarise the perioperative characteristics,8 preliminary experiments(group A) and 18 experiments(group B) of OLTs were performed without veno-venous bypass(VVB) in Chinese inbred miniature porcine. Results The mean operation time was(179.6?14.3)min in our 18 OLTs,and the mean anhepatic phase time was(27.3?3.4)min.Dramatic hemodynamic and metabolic changes were identified during anhepatic phase. The oneweek survival rate was 88.9% in group B,but all the 8 pigs in group A died. The experiment group pigs urinated after 3~5hours and had normal diet after 3days.Conclusions Decreasing the operation time and stability of hemodynamics in anhepatic phase are the keys for success in OLTs without VVB.

ABSTRACT

Objective To summarize the clinical experience of laparoscopic treatment of hepatic hydatid cysts. Methods The clinical data of 120 patients with hepatic hydatid cysts who received laparoscopic endocyst extraction were retrospectively analyzed .Results The procedure was successful in all cases with no intraoperative leakage of fluid from the hepatic hydatid cysts or occurrence of anaphylactic shock. Postoperatively, there were 4 cases of recurrence , 8 cases of biliary fistula, 8 cases of residual cavity hydrops, and 1 case of postoperative bleeding. All of the cases were cured. The mortality in our study was zero. Conclusions Laparoscopic extraction of endocyst of hepatic hydatid cysts is a safe and effective procedure.

ABSTRACT

Objective To study the feasibility of laparoscopic cholecystectomy(LC)combined with laparoscopic appendectomy(LA).Methods One hundred and thirty patients of cholecystitis with acute appendicitis or chronic appendicitis were treated by LC combined with LA at the same operation. Results One hundred and tweent-nine cases were operated successfully.1 case was converted to open operation .No complications occurred in this series. Conclusions LC combined with LA in treating patients with cholesystitis combined with acute appendicitis or chronic appendicitis is a preferable method.
