ABSTRACT

Objective To investigate the correlation of plasma heme oxygenase-1 (HO-1) level and type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM). Methods The outpatient with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) undergoing oral glucose tolerance test and healthy individuals with physical examination were divided into T2DM group and healthy control group, the differences between the two groups in HO-1 and methane dicarboxylic aldehyde (MDA), mean fluorescence intensity (MFI), homeostasis model assessment of insulin resistance (HOMA-IR) and fasting blood glucose (FBG) were comparatively analysed , and analyzed the correlations between HO-1 and reactive oxygen species (ROS) MFI, MDA, HOMA-IR and FBG. Results The type 2 diabetes group in MDA and MFI, the expression rate of HO-1 were higher than those of control group (P<0.05), correlation analysis of expression of HO-1 was positively correlated with MFI, MDA (r=0.489, 0.763, P<0.05) in the T2DM group, HO-1, HOMA-IR and FBG were significantly higher than the healthy control group, the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05). The expression of HO-1 and HOMA-IR and FPG levels were positively correlated in the T2DM group (r=0.271, 0.426, P <0.05). Conclusion T2DM patients with hyperglycemia and oxidative stress, plasma HO-1 expression is significantly increased, HO-1 is related to oxidative stress, insulin resistance and hyperglycaemia, which has certain value on clinical assessment of T2DM and therapeutic efficacy.

ABSTRACT

Objective To observe the clinical effects of insulin glargine combined with novonorm in treatment of patients with newly diagnosed type 2 diabetes. Methods 112 cases of newly diagnosed type 2 diabetes patients were randomly separated into observation group(56 cases)and control group(56 cases). Observation group was treated with insulin glargine combined with novonorm. Control group was treated with novolin30R. The levels of FPG,2hPG and HbA1c before and after treatment, the control time of blood sugar, amounts of insulin and incidence of low blood sugar were observed in both groups. Results Compared with pre-treatment, FPG,2hPG and HbA1 c were significantly decreased (all P <0.05) after treatment, but there were no significant differences in both two groups (P >0. 05). The control time of blood sugar, amounts of insulin and incidence of low blood sugar in observation group were significantly lower than those in control group (all P < 0.05). Conclusion Insulin glargine combined with novonorm in treatment of patients with newly diagnosed type 2 diabetes could effectively control blood sugar, shorten the control time of blood sugar, decrease amounts of insulin, and low incidence of low blood sugar.

ABSTRACT

Objective]To prove that Fujian Province is also a natural focus of Pagumogonimus veocularis(Pv).[Methods]The adult worms were obtained from a cat fed with Pv metacercariae.[Results]Pv were found in Jianou,Fujian Province. All 1 873 Semisulcospira libertina showed negative. The positive rate of Tricula fujianensis and Erhaia jianouenensis were 0.10%(1/695) and 0.25%(5/2 038), respectively. The main crab host was S.fujianensis.Ps alone and mixed infection with Pv were found in the Sinopotamon ,the infection rates were 36.8%(43/117)and 20.5%(24/117), respectively. The numbers of the metacercariae were 806 and 40, respectively. A cat was infected with 12 metacercariae of Pv , eggs were found in the stool 56 days after infection, and 6 worms were found in the lungs 68 days after infection. [Conclusion]Fujian is one of the natural focus of Pv, cat is the adequate host. The fluke was identified as Pv according to the characteristics of the metacercariae.
