ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVE:To provide reference for pharmacy staff to choose different drug label databases according to different needs.METHODS:The information organization mode of the three open access drug label databases that included Drugs@FDA,FDA Online Label Repository and DailyMed had been collected and analyzed comparatively from three aspects:retrieval function settings,search results display,data resources and service targets.RESULTS & CONCLUSIONS:In respect of retrieval function,DailyMed provided the most abundant retrieval functions than others.In respects of search results display,DailyMed provided the highest degree of formatted data,followed by FDA Online Label Repository,while Drugs@FDA provided semi-formatted data.Three databases provided the functions of page replication and printing,among which the interface of DailyMed was friendlier and the content of DailyMed was more open;it provided all the download functions.In respects of data resources and service targets,developers of Drugs@FDA and FDA Online Label Repository were FDA,and that of DailyMed was National Library of Medicine (NLM).The data sources used by Drugs@FDA were the drug labels after strict approval by FDA,and the description of drug information by Drugs@FDA was the most comprehensive.FDA Online Label Repository was the original drug labels submitted by the manufacturer to FDA,which was the latest content,and even included unlisted drugs.The data sources of DailyMed were from the information listed on the drug package,and included the information of drug label which was listed but not approved strictly;it covered most comprehensive drugs.

ABSTRACT

Objective To analyze the literature of two core periodicals ,Military Medicine of the USA and Journal of the Royal Army Medical Corps of the UK,in order to highlight some important authors ,research institutes and some hot spots in the field of military medicine .Methods Citespace and Excel were used to analyze the data of authors institutes , keywords and citation frequency of the collected records .Results and Conclusion The core authors and critical research institutes are mainly from the USA and UK .America is absolutely taking the leading position in research on military medicine that focuses on injury risk factors , trauma and care , mental health , veteran affairs , military epidemiology and prevention .The results are of referential value for researchers and research administrators to find out about the main core authors ,research institutes and hot spots in military medicine .

ABSTRACT

Objective To explore the way to compile a global military medical literature collection and perspectives for its research.Methods The names of military medical research institutions and their trends of development were summa-rized via semantic analysis.The collection of retrieval words for military medical research institutions( then the collection) was constructed based on expert consultation.The names of military medical research institutions were collect-ed with manual screening after retrieval withthe collection.The literature collection of military medical research institu-tions was completed with coordinated retrieved of their papers and other publications.Results According to different needs of information analysis, the literature collection of military medical research institutions could be analyzed in terms of their size, types of development, and academic authority.Conclusion Based onthe collection, the military medical research institutions collected in this article included institutions that used to be neglected during the course of information tracking of military medicine.Three kinds of institutions should be paid more attention to.The institutions were the ones with a large number of papers and citations, the ones whose papers increased or decreased dramatically, as well as the ones whose research directions were the priority fields of Chinese PLA.

ABSTRACT

The great changes taking place in the environment of academic library were analyzed from the aspects of networked information environment, knowledge-based user needs and homogenized library resources. The main up-date development characteristics of academic library were described according to the current development situation in foreign and domestic academic libraries as revealed in our investigation, such as e-only of library resources, knowledge-based and embedded information service, associated, semantic and integrated information organization, incorporation of primary information resources into institutional knowledge property management, digital library emerged in scientific data monitoring centers, SoLoMo as the concept for creating the next generation mobile library service. It was pointed out that academic library will become the user-oriented knowledge service center that provides user-driving knowledge service and intelligent knowledge service in an all-inclusive knowledge management manner. It is thus necessary for academic library to attach more importance on the information needs of scientific workers, to strengthen the user-oriented professional work layout, application of information technology, interlibrary coopera-tion and resources-sharing, and to improve the information literacy of librarians.
