A importƒncia do novo desing da overlay provis¢ria na est‚tica do planejamento da reabilita‡Æo oral / The importance of the new design of overlay splint in aesthetics of oral rehabilitation planning

O desgaste dent rio quando excessivo ou patol¢gico pode levar a uma altera‡Æo da dimensÆo vertical de oclusÆo, gerando preju¡zos na est‚tica, fun‡Æo e fon‚tica do paciente. A reabilita‡Æo com a dimensÆo vertical de oclusÆo perdida ‚ complexa e trabalhosa para o cirurgiÆo dentista. Necessitamos primeiramente determinar se houve a perda dessa dimensÆo vertical e o quanto ela ocorreu. Para isso avaliamos se houve perda de suporte posterior, a hist¢ria de desgaste dental, distƒncia interoclusal, aparˆncia facial e fon‚tica. Detectada a perda da dimensÆo vertical de oclusÆo, o tratamento de elei‡Æo para restabelecˆ-la ‚ a confec‡Æo de uma overlay provis¢ria. Terapˆutica que apresenta reversibilidade, baixo custo e tempo operacional reduzido comparado a outros tratamentos reabilitadores. Neste trabalho mostramos que al‚m dessas vantagens a overlay provis¢ria pode apresentar um novo design que recobre nÆo s¢ a oclusal dos dentes remanescentes, mas h  o recobrimento de toda a face vestibular desses dentes at‚ a cervical, desaparecendo com a linha de uniÆo dente-placa, o que comprometia a est‚tica

Dental wear when excessive or pathological can lead to an alteration on vertical dimension of occlusion compromising aesthetics, function, and phonetic. The rehabilitation with loss of vertical dimension of occlusion is complex and laborious for the dentist. Therefore were assessed the presence of loss of posterior support, patients’ history of wearing, interocclusal distance, facial appearance and phonetics. Detected the loss of vertical dimension of the occlusion the chosen restorative treatment was an overlay splint. This therapeutics is reversible, and has reduced costs and operating when compared to other treatments. In addition this study presents the This paper shows that beside these advantages overlay splint also has a new design that covers not only the occlusal tooth remaining, coating the entire buccal surface of these teeth extending to the cervix. Such design makes the line uniting teeth and splint indistinguishable optimizing aesthetics

Alternativa atual e viável para próteses metalocerâmicas sobre implantes com infraestrutura de cobalto-cromo / Current and viable alternative to prosthesis metaloceramic on implant with infrastructure of cobalt-chromium

As pesquisas atuais e melhoramentos tecnológicos tem tornado viável a aplicação do Co-Cr nas próteses fixas e próteses sobre implantes metalo-cerâmicas. O trabalho desenvolvido tem sugerido esta liga como alternativa para solucionar problemas com a possível toxidade contendo NIBE e o alto custo das ligas nobres. A partir de uma revisão da literatura, este trabalho se propôs a discutir os aspectos clínicos relacionados à confecção de uma prótese fixa sobre implante com infraestrutura em Co-Cr, por meio de relato de caso clínico. Diante do resultado obtido neste caso clínico, pode-se concluir que o uso de infraestrutura em Co-Cr, apresentou um interessante resultado clínico e estético como uma alternativa viável com baixo custo para o cirurgião dentista.

Current research and technological improvements have made possible the application of Co-Cr in fixed prostheses on implants and prostheses PFM. The work has suggested this league as an alternative to troubleshoot the possible toxicity containing NI-BE and the high cost of noble alloys. From a review of the literature, this paper aims to discuss the clinical aspects related to the construction of a fixed prosthesis on implant infrastructure in Co-Cr, through clinical case report. Given the results obtained in this clinical case, we can conclude that the use of infrastructure in Co-Cr, presented an interesting clinical outcome and aesthetic as a viable alternative to low-cost dental surgeon.
