ABSTRACT

Objective@#To understand the current situation and influencing factors of scoliosis in 12-year-old students from Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, so as to provide scientific basis for accurate prevention and control of abnormal spinal curvature.@*Methods@#From October to November 2021, a total of 18 399 students aged 12 were selected by region and school level by stratified random cluster sampling method, and spinal curvature screening and questionnaire survey of common diseases and health influencing factors among students were carried out. Chi squared test was used for single factor analysis, and binary Logistic regression model was used for multi factor analysis.@*Results@#A total of 397 students (2.2%) were detected with abnormal curvature of the spine, including 368 students (2.0%) with scoliosis. Among them, 205 cases were in the lumbar thoracic segment with a detection rate of 1.1%, 173 cases were in the thoracic segment with a detection rate of 0.9%, and 141 cases were in lumbar thoracic segment with a detection rate of 0.8%. Binary Logistic regression analysis showed that urban area, economic area(moderate), attending tutorial classes before primary school and class seats never changed regularly were positively correlated with the occurrence of scoliosis among 12 year old students ( OR =1.95,1.67,1.76,1.71, P <0.05). Obesity, attending an average of 3 or 4 physical education classes per week, attending physical fitness and beauty classes before primary school were negatively correlated with the occurrence of scoliosis among 12 year old students ( OR =0.69,0.31,0.36,0.71, P <0.05).@*Conclusion@#The prevalence of scoliosis among 12-year-old students in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region is not optimistic. It should pay attention to the prevention and control of scoliosis in students before the age of 12, actively prevent the occurrence and progress of scoliosis.

ABSTRACT

Objective:To test the reliability and validity of the Early Symptom Measurement of Post-Stroke Depression-Short Form (ESMPSD-SF).Methods:Totally 325 patients with early stage stroke were investigated by the demographic questionnaire and the Early Symptom Measurement of Post-Stroke Depression-Short Form. Exploratory factors, confirmatory factor analysis and reliability analysis were used to establish the reliability and validity of the scale. Results:Exploratory factor analysis extracted four factors: "low", "guilt", "emotional" and "wakefulness", which explained 74.228% of the total variation of depression. All the model fit indexes of confirmatory factor analysis and the standardized factor loadings of each item were up to standard, and the variances explained by each item were within acceptable range. The internal consistency reliability of the total scale was 0.866, the internal consistency of the domains ranged from 0.649 to 0.882, the corrected item-total correlation coefficient ranged from 0.401 to 0.676, and the item-subscale correlation coefficient ranged from 0.647 to 0.923.Conclusions:ESMPSD-SF demonstrated good reliability and validity and can be used to screen depressive symptoms in patients with early stage stroke.

ABSTRACT

Objective To analyze the quality of life and its influencing factors in elderly patients with malignant tumors in rehabilitation period. Methods A comprehensive questionnaire on the quality of life of the elderly patients with malignant tumors was designed with reference to the European Organization for Research and Treatment of Cancer (EORTC) QLQ-C30 scale. The quality of life of patients with malignant tumor diagnosed in Shanxi Cancer Hospital from November 2009 to November 2013 was investigated and evaluated. All data were analyzed by SPSS 13.0 software, and SAS9.2 software was used for statistical analysis. The influencing factors were analyzed by multiple linear regression analysis. Results Sex, marriage and other factors had no influence on the quality of life in elderly patients with malignant tumors (P> 0.05). The social and medical factors, such as age, educational level, number of children, medical form (economic status), discharge time, treatment style, etc were the main factors affecting the quality of life of patients (all P<0.05).Conclusions Poor physical condition, social relationship, psychological factors and medical factors have effect on quality of life in elderly patients with malignant tumor.Strict adherence to doctor's advice and popularization of relevant knowledge, providing family warmth, social support and economic support can improve the quality of life of patients with malignant tumor.

ABSTRACT

Objective To investigate sexual life associated with hysterectomy of young women and its related factors. Methods Data from 199 patients with hysterectomy were collected.Statistical analysis was performed between the postoperative recovery condition among them, including daily life and sex life. Results There was significant difference on sexual life quality of the patients by hysterectomy among patient age, occupation, education, postoperative time, disease and complication (P < 0.05).The age of 41-50 years and 51-60 years old patients' quality of life satisfaction was significantly higher than that of age ≤40 years old patients (OR =3.8,95 % CI 1.36-10.66; OR =3.6,95 % CI 1.24-10.43).The patients of the occupation of service sectors, workers, and patients with free occupation have a decreased satisfactions compared with that of farmer patients (OR =0.46,95 % CI 0.12-1.75; OR =0.75,95 % CI 0.27-2.12; OR =0.94 95 % CI 0.45-1.98).There was a increasing satisfactions in administrative and the intellectuals (OR =1.11,95 % CI 0.34-3.62; OR =1.33,95 % CI 0.35-5.10).Patients with primary school educations as a reference for comparison, the quality of life of patients with associated college and above degree were increased than patients with primary school (OR =1.15,95 % CI 0.43-3.04),and were decreased in the patients of the high and middle school (OR =0.98,95 % CI 0.46-2.11; OR =0.63,95 % CI 0.26-1.54; OR =0.15,95 % CI 0.02-1.27).The quality of life satisfaction of long period patients (7-12 months,13-24 months,24 months after the operation)was significantly higher than that of short period patients with 6 months(OR =1.94,95 % CI 0.65-5.83; OR =6.32,95 % CI 2.17-18.38; OR =8.47,95 % CI 2.92-24.56,P < 0.001).Conclusion The doctors need focus on relative knowledge education of perioperation. It is important to inform patients and their spouses to have the knowledge of female physiology, fully understanding the impact of the extent of surgery on sexual life of patients to enhance the confidence and improve the life quality of patients.

ABSTRACT

Objective To explore the incidence and severity of cancer-related fatigue (CRF),and to analyze the correlation between CRF and quality of life in lung cancer patients receiving chemotherapy. Methods This was a cross-sectional study.72 lung cancer patients receiving chemotherapy were investigated by the Piper Fatigue Scale (PFS) and the 36-item short form of the Medical Outcomes Study questionnaire (SF-36).Results The rate of fatigue for lung cancer patients receiving chemotherapy was 76.4%.The incidence of moderate and severe fatigue in total fatigue,behavior/severity dimension, affective dimension, sensory dimension was 68.1%,63.9%,76.4% and 65.3% respectively. The incidence of mild and moderate fatigue in coguitive/mood dimension was 41.7%.The fatigue dimension scores ranked in a descending order,affective,behavior/severity,sensory and cognitive/mood.There was significant negative correlation between CRF and quality of life for lung cancer patients receiving chemotherapy. Conclusions In lung cancer patients receiving chemotherapy, the incidence and degree of fatigue was high.CRF and QOL affect each other. The health care providers should take measures to alleviate lung cancer patients' fatigue in order to improve the QOL of them.
