ABSTRACT

Objective To explore the clinical experience and surgical method of the repairment of frontal plantar tissue defects by using "tennis racket"-like flap with the medial plantar retrograde, and to study the reliability in the clinical application of the medial plantar retrograde flap. Methods From June 2011 to June 2016,"tennis racket"-like flap with the medial plantar retrograde was used to repair the frontal plantar tissue defects in 10 cases. The cutting range of flap was from 3.5 cm × 2.0 cm to 8.0 cm x 4.0 cm in size;in all patients the donor area was covered by skin grafts. Results All flaps survived and wounds healed by first intention. In 10 patients the donor sites healed primarily with a straight scar, and the appearance and texture of the flaps were satisfactory. All patients were followed up from 6 to 24 months (mean 12 months).According to the Chinese foot function evaluation standard trial evaluation, the outcomes were excellent in 9 cases, good in 7 cases, and medium in 2 cases. Conclusions "Tennis racket"-like flap with the medial plantar retrograde is less anatomic variation with reliable blood supply, and sensory recovery is quick;the donor site is a small crater and cicatrial contractures are light;the cost is low.All patients are treated on one session and therefore it is an ideal method for the repairment of frontal plantar tissue defects.

ABSTRACT

Objective To investigate the sleep self-adaptation for Chinese military personnel and the correlations with sleep quality. Methods 857 soldiers completed the Sleep Quality Scale of Chinese Military Personnel (SQSCMP) and the Soldier Sleep Self-Adaptation Scale (SSSAS). Results The average level of sleep selfadaptation of Chinese military personnel was 2.89, below the theoretical midpoint score 3. There were significant positive correlations between the sleep quality and the global level of sleep self-adaptation and its 5 factors ( r =0. 16 ~ 0. 533, P < 0.001 ), except the factor of perceived importance of sleep ( r = -0.027 ). Multiple stepwise regression analysis showed that the major determinants of the sleep quality were the factors of positive attitudes about sleep, the positive self-suggastions on sleep and the ability of anti-disturbance of sleep. Conclusion The positive and appropriate attitudes and beliefs about sleep are of benefit to sleep quality.

ABSTRACT

Objective: To explore the relationship between social support and mental health, and constructing the influential model of social support and personality on mental health. Methods: Both cross-sectional and longitudinal questionnaire surveys were used on 192 university students. Results: Social support and personality had significant effect on mental health.Social support had indirect effect on later mental health via concurrent mental health and later social support, and personality was the modulating variable of social support to mental health. Conclusion: It indicates that social support can effectively predict mental health in 2 years, and it also has indirect effect on mental health via personality.

Methods: 989 rural middle school students in Jiangxi province were investigated with SCL-90, Social Support Rating Scale and the Chinese versions of EMBU. Results: The major problem of mental health were interpersonal sensitivity, obsessive-compulsive, depression, hostility and paranoid ideation. There was remarkable difference between boys and girls, senior and junior high school students. Multiple regression analysis indicated that the major determinants of the rural middle school students' mental health were subjective social support, usage of social support, father's and mother's rejection and denying, father's over-protection, mother's punishment and rigidity, different sex, grades and only children or non-only children. Conclusion: The students in rural middle school, especially in senior high school, had severe mental health problems, social support and parental rearing patterns have a significant influence on mental health.
